What is Mogamulizumab?

Mogamulizumab can be used in the treatment of adults with Sezary syndrome or Mycosis fungoides.

Mogamulizumab should be given after, at the very least, one other drug has failed or stopped working.

Side effects of Mogamulizumab

If you experience any of the following signs of an allergy: difficulty breathing, hives, swelling in your lips, face, throat or tongue - these could all be symptoms of an allergy.

A few side effects can occur when you receive the injection. You should tell your healthcare provider if you experience any of the following side effects during the infusion: dizziness, fatigue, itchiness, heat or cold, or a shortness of breath.

Mogamulizumab may cause serious side effects. If you experience:

  • A rash on the skin, blisters, itching
  • Painful mouth sores;
  • Chills, a sore neck, and a cough.
  • Nausea diarrhea;
  • Shortness of breath.

Mogamulizumab can cause a number of side effects.

  • Diarrhea;
  • Rash;
  • Feeling tired
  • Bone pain, muscle pain;
  • Cold symptoms like stuffy noses, sneezing, and sore throats.

Warnings

Mogamulizumab may cause severe or even life-threatening effects.

If you experience a skin rash or itch, blistering, peeling, sores in your mouth, fever or chills, or flu-like symptoms such as trouble breathing or diarrhea, call your doctor immediately.

During the injection, some side effects can occur. You should tell your doctor if you experience any of the following: dizziness, fatigue, itchiness, heat or cold, or shortness of breath.

Before you take this drug

If you've ever:

  • A severe reaction after using mogamulizumab;
  • Liver diseases, including hepatitis b.
  • Lung problems;
  • An autoimmune disorder;
  • A stem cell transplant is performed by a deceased donor.

Before starting the treatment, you may be required to take a pregnancy test.

Avoid using mogamulizumab while pregnant. This drug could cause harm to the baby. While you use this medication and for 3 months following your last dose, it is important to continue using effective birth control. Inform your doctor immediately if you fall pregnant.

Breast-feeding while taking this medication could be risky, so you should discuss any potential dangers with your healthcare provider.

How to take Mogamulizumab?

Mogamulizumab can be infused into the vein. This injection will be given by a healthcare professional.

The infusion of mogamulizumab can last up to 60 minutes.

Mogamulizumab can be given as part of a 28-day treatment cycle. The medicine may only be needed during the 1st to 3rd weeks of each treatment cycle. You will be treated by your doctor for the prescribed duration.

This medicine will require frequent tests in order to ensure that it isn't causing any harmful side effects.

Details on dosage

Adult dose for mycosis fungoides:

On days 1, 8, 15, and 22 of your first cycle of 28 days, and on days 1 and 15, of every subsequent cycle of 28 days until you see disease progression or unacceptable toxicities

Comments:
Premedicate with diphenhydramine and acetaminophen before the first injection.

Uses: Relapsed or refractory Sezary Syndrome or Mycosis Fungoides after systemic treatment

If you missed your appointment to receive your mogamulizumab, call your doctor and ask for directions.

What happens if I overdose?

Overdoses are unlikely because mogamulizumab will be administered by healthcare professionals in a medical environment.

What should be avoided?

If your doctor prescribes any restrictions on foods, beverages or activities for you, adhere to them as instructed.

Interaction with other drug

Mogamulizumab can be affected by other drugs, such as prescription medicines, over-the-counter medications, vitamins, and herbal products. Inform your physician of any medications you are currently taking or those which you discontinue or begin taking, along with any that change or are discontinued or introduced into your routine.
