Warnings
Avoid applying Mirvaso Gel to open or irritated wounds. Do not apply to the lips or eyes.
Patients using Mirvaso Gel may develop redness and flushing.

Before you take this drug
Mirvaso should be avoided if allergic to brimonidine.
Tell your doctor about any of the following to ensure that Mirvaso will be safe for you:
- Coronary artery disease (or circulation problems)
- Heart disease or blood vessel disorders;
- Raynaud syndrome is a condition that causes numbness and coldness in the hands and feet.
- Depression;
- Low blood pressure
- Sjogren syndrome is an autoimmune disease.
- Scleroderma is a condition in which scar tissue builds up on the skin.
- If you are planning to undergo laser surgery,
- Are You on Blood Pressure or Heart Medication
Mirvaso does not pose a known threat to unborn babies. Please notify your healthcare provider as soon as you plan on becoming pregnant while receiving this treatment, or if you suspect you already are expecting.
No studies have examined brimonidine's ability to pass into breast milk or cause any harmful side effects in nursing babies; thus it should never be taken during breastfeeding.
How to take Mirvaso?
Follow the instructions on your prescription label. Please follow all the instructions on the prescription label. Take this medication only as prescribed. Do not exceed the recommended dosage or take it for more than the prescribed duration.
Mirvaso should be used once a day or as directed by your physician.
Use a small amount of gel on each area affected (foreheads, noses, cheeks, and chins). Avoid getting any medicine in your mouth or near your eyes.
This medicine should not be used on wounds that are open, sunburned, windburned, irritated, or chapped.
After using this medication, wash your hands.
Keep away from heat and moisture at a temperature of room temperature.
Keep away from children. Mirvaso may cause severe medical issues in children who swallow the medication. If this occurs, seek emergency medical care.

Adult dosage for Acne Rosacea:
Application of maintenance dose: Use a small amount (about a pea size) on the central forehead area, on each cheek, and on your chin and nose.
Topical treatment for persistent facial erythema (nontransient) in adults aged 18 or over. This medication is not intended for intravaginal, oral, or ophthalmic use.
What happens if I miss the dose?
As soon as possible, apply the missed dose. If your next dose is approaching, skip the missed dose. You should not take extra medication to compensate for a missed dose.
What happens if I overdose?
Overdoses of Mirvaso are not generally considered harmful; if anyone consumes too much Mirvaso by mistake, emergency medical help should be sought immediately or contact the Poison Helpline at 1-800-222-1222 immediately.
What should be avoided?
Mirvaso should only be used on your facial skin, not mouth or eye areas. Do not ingest or inject this medication.
Side effects of Mirvaso
If you experience any of the following symptoms of an allergic response to Mirvaso, seek immediate medical attention: hives, difficulty breathing, swelling in your mouth, face, lips, or throat.
If you experience:
- Feeling dizzy or lightheaded
- Slow heartbeats
- Severe skin irritation, such as a burning sensation or severe redness,.
Mirvaso may cause side effects such as:
- Mild skin redness and burning
- Flushing (warmth or redness);
- The skin may appear paler or lighter where the medication was applied.

Interaction with other drug
Brimonidine applied topically is unlikely to interact with other medications you may take orally or those that are injected. Many drugs interact. Inform your healthcare providers of all the medicines that you take, including vitamins and herbal products, prescriptions, and over-the-counter medicines.
