What is MetroGel?
MetroGel is used for the treatment of skin lesions that are caused by Rosacea. MetroGel can be used in other ways not mentioned in the medication guide.
Side effects of MetroGel
If you experience symptoms such as difficulty breathing, hives or swelling on the lips, face, throat or tongue then an allergy may be present.
MetroGel may cause serious side effects. If you experience:
You may experience numbness or tingling in your feet or hands.
- MetroGel can cause a burning or stinging sensation.
MetroGel can cause the following side effects:
- Burning or stinging
- Skin redness and irritation
- Itchy, dry, or scaly skin
- Cold symptoms typically include congestion and sneezing as well as sore throat discomfort.

Warnings
Please read all the instructions on the label or package of your medication. Inform your doctors about your allergies and medical conditions. Also, tell them which medicines you are using.
Before you take this drug
MetroGel should be avoided if it causes an allergic reaction.
If you've ever:
- A disorder of the nervous system.
MetroGel is not known to cause harm to an unborn child. Inform your doctor immediately if you plan to get pregnant. MetroGel should not be used while breastfeeding. MetroGel cannot be used by those under the age of 18.
How to take MetroGel?
Read all the instructions or guides that come with your medication and follow all the directions. Follow the directions on your prescription label. Take it only by mouth. Topical medicines are only to be used on the skin. MetroGel should be applied after washing and drying your skin. The medication should be applied in a thin, even layer. Rub it in thoroughly. MetroGel can be used with cosmetics. MetroGel should not be used to treat skin conditions that have not been examined by a doctor. Even if you feel better quickly, continue to take this medication for as long as it is prescribed. You can get infections if you skip doses.If your symptoms don't improve or worsen while you are using MetroGel, call your doctor.Keep away from heat or moisture.
What happens if I miss the dose?
If you are almost due for the next dose, skip the dose that was missed. Never take two doses of the same medicine at once.
What happens if I overdose?
MetroGel overdoses are not dangerous. If anyone accidentally swallows the medication, seek emergency medical care or contact the Poison Help Line at 1-800-222-1222.
What should be avoided?
MetroGel should not be used in the vagina. MetroGel should not be used in the eyes.
Interaction with other drug
Other drugs that you take are unlikely to affect the medicine applied to your skin. Many drugs interact. Inform your health care providers of all the medicines that you take, including prescription medicines and over-the-counter medications.
