What is Mentax?

Butenafine fights infections that are caused by fungus. Mentax (for skin) can be used to treat skin conditions such as athletes foot and jock's itch. Mentax can be used in other ways not mentioned in this guide.

Side effects of Mentax

If you experience any of the following symptoms of an allergic reaction, seek immediate medical attention: hives, difficulty breathing, swelling of your lips, face, tongue, or throat.

Butenafine can cause serious side effects. If you experience:

  • Severe blistering, itching or redness, peeling, and irritation of the treated skin

Mentax can cause the following side effects:

  • There may be mild burning, stinging, or itching at the site of application.

Before you take this drug

How to take Mentax?

Do not exceed the recommended dosage or duration. Use the recommended dose and do not exceed it. Mentax is not to be taken by mouth. Mentax should only be applied to the skin. After using the medicine, wash your hands. Dry and clean the affected area. Use the medication as directed. You should take this medication for the entire prescribed time. You may experience symptom improvement before the virus has completely been cleared. If your symptoms don't improve or worsen after four weeks of treatment, call your doctor. Cover the treated area only if your doctor instructs. Store at room temperature away from heat and moisture, keeping the container tightly closed when not in use.

What happens if I miss the dose?

As soon as you recall, apply the missed dose. IfIf it is almost time for you to take another dose, skip the missed one and move onto taking your scheduled dosage instead.Don't use extra medicine to compensate for a missed dose.

What happens if I overdose?

Overdoses of butenafine are not considered harmful; however, if an accidental overdose should occur and medical assistance must be sought immediately or Poison Help may also be reached at 1-800-222-1222 for assistance.

What should be avoided?

Rinse with water if Mentax has gotten into your eyes, nose, or mouth. Do not use other medications to treat the same areas that you have treated with butenafine, unless you are told by your doctor. Avoid wearing synthetic clothing that is tight-fitting and restricts airflow. You should wear loose-fitting cotton or other natural fibers to keep your infection at bay.

Interaction with other drug

Butenafine, applied topically, is unlikely to interact with other drugs that you may take orally or inject. Many drugs interact with each other.Inform all healthcare providers of all the medications you take, such as prescription, over-the-counter and herbal products.
