What is Mediplast?

Mediplast (for skin) can be used to treat acne, eczema, or dandruff. It also treats seborrhea and psoriasis, as well as corns, calluses, and warts. Mediplast can be used in other ways than those listed in the medication guide.

Side effects of Mediplast

Mediplast may cause an allergic reaction, severe skin irritation, or wheezing. If you experience any of the following symptoms, stop using Mediplast immediately and seek emergency medical attention: difficulty breathing, hives itching, feeling light-headed, or swelling in your face, lips, or throat.

Stop using Mediplast immediately and consult your doctor if:

  • This medicine may cause severe irritation, burning, peeling, stinging, or dryness.

Before you take this drug

Mediplast should not be used by anyone who is allergic to the product.

If you are suffering from:

  • Blood circulation problems
  • Skin tenderness or redness
  • Diabetes;
  • Liver or kidney disease

Consult your doctor before taking this medication if you're pregnant or nursing. This medicine can be used in children or teens with flu symptoms or chickenpox. It may cause Reye’s syndrome.

How to take Mediplast?

Follow the instructions on the label or those prescribed by your doctor. Mediplast comes in many forms: liquid, gels, lotions, creams, ointments, foams, soaps, shampoos, cloth pads, etc. You should not change brands without consulting your pharmacist or doctor. If you take more than the recommended dosage, this medication will not be as effective and can cause serious side effects. Take it only by mouth. Topical medicines are only to be used on the skin. If the condition is widespread, consult your doctor prior to using Mediplast. Avoid bandaging or heating the treated skin. You may cause harm by absorbing the medication through your skin. Mediplast should not be used to treat skin conditions that have not been examined by a doctor. Avoid touching the ointment tube tip or placing it directly on your skin. The skin can be infected by a contaminated tube.

Mediplast can be used as needed. You should not take any missed doses if you have a regular dosing regimen. Never use two doses in one go.

What should be avoided?

Before using any over-the-counter medicines that contain similar ingredients to Mediplast, consult your doctor or pharmacist. Mediplast should not be used on wounds that are open or sunburned. Avoid getting this medication in your mouth or eyes. If this medicine accidentally gets into your mouth or eyes, rinse with water. Some Mediplast products can be flammable. Avoid using near-open flames or high heat. Smoke only after the gel is completely dry. Do not use other medications to treat the same areas that you have treated with Mediplast unless your doctor has prescribed it.

Interaction with other drug
