What is Lustra Ultra?

The Lustra Ultra (for skin) can be used to reduce darkened areas such as age spots, freckles, and melasma caused by sun damage.Lustra Ultra may be used in other ways not mentioned in the medication guide.

Side effects of Lustra-Ultra

If you experience any of the following symptoms of an allergy: difficulty breathing, hives, swelling in your lips, face, throat, or tongue

Lustra-Ultra may cause serious side effects. Lustra Ultra should be stopped immediately, and you need to consult your doctor if:

  • Severe skin redness or burning;
  • Severe skin dryness, cracking, or bleeding;
  • Blisters or blistering
  • Blue or black skin discoloration (especially for Hispanics or African Americans)

Side effects that may occur with Lustra Ultra include:

  • Mild burning or stinging on the treated skin
  • Mild irritation, such as mild itching or redness,

There may be other side effects. For medical advice on side effects, call your doctor. Report side effects by calling the FDA at 1-800-FDA-1088.

Before you take this drug

Lustra Ultra should not be used if you have an allergy to hydroquinone or peroxide.

If you've ever:

  • Liver or kidney disease
  • Asthma, or sulfite allergies
  • If you use any anti-biotic medication,

Consult your doctor if you're pregnant or nursing before taking this medication.This medicine should not be given to children under the age of 12 without consulting a doctor.

How to take Lustra Ultra?

Follow the instructions on the packaging or those prescribed by your physician.Lustra Ultra is typically applied in the mornings and before bedtime. Do not forget to follow your doctor's orders!Take it only by mouth. Topical medicines are only to be used on the skin.Use a test dose before you begin using Lustra Ultra to determine if it causes an allergic reaction. Check the skin area after 24 hours by applying a tiny amount of medicine. Use the entire amount prescribed if there's no other reaction than minor skin redness.You should wash your hands both before and after using this medication, except if you're treating the skin of your hands.Only apply this medication to affected areas of skin that require whitening. Avoid getting any medication on the skin near these areas.Lustra Ultra should not be used on wounds that are open, sunburned, or windburned. It is also recommended to avoid using it on chapped or dry skin.If your symptoms don't improve within 2 months or worsen, call your doctor.Keep the container at room temperature, away from heat and moisture. When not in use, keep the container closed.

What happens if I miss the dose?

If it is almost time for your next dose, skip any missed ones and continue as scheduled. Never apply two doses at once.

What happens if I overdose?

Overdoses of Lustra Ultra are not considered dangerous. If anyone accidentally swallows the drug, seek emergency medical care or contact the Poison Help Line at 1-800-222-1222.

What should be avoided?

Lustra Ultra should not be used on the eyes.Do not get this medication on the lips, inside of your mouth, or nose. These areas may become numb from hydroquinone.Avoid tanning or exposure to the sun. Lustra Ultra can cause skin burns. When you're outdoors, wear protective clothing. Use sunblock with an SPF of 30 or more. Certain hydroquinone-based products contain sunscreen. Verify the label on your medicine or consult with your doctor.Lustra Ultra may cause your skin to be more sensitive to weather extremes, such as wind and cold. Use clothing to protect your skin and moisturisers as necessary.Lustra Ultra can stain the skin if used with peroxyl. This staining is usually removed by washing with soap and running water.Use skin care products that are not irritating. These include harsh soaps and shampoos; permanent hair dyes; and hair waxes or removers. Also, avoid products containing alcohol, spices, or astringents.

Interaction with other drug

Other medications you are currently taking shouldn't have any significant effect on the medicine you apply directly to your skin. Many drugs interact. Inform your health care providers of all the medicines that you take, including prescriptions and over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, and herbs.
