What is Lodrane D?

Lodrane D contains a combination of medicines that treat the symptoms of the cold and seasonal allergies. These include a sneezing or runny nose, itchy or watery eyes, or a stuffy or runny nose.Lodrane D can be used in other ways not mentioned in this guide.

Side effects of Lodrane

If you experience any of the following symptoms of an allergic reaction, seek immediate medical attention: difficulty breathing, hives, swelling of the face, lips, or throat.

Lodrane D can cause serious side effects. If you experience:

  • Sleeplessness, anxiety, or dizziness
  • Chest pain is characterised by a fast or irregular heartbeat.
  • Little or no urinating is acceptable.
  • Dangerously high blood pressre can cause symptoms such as a severe headache or a buzzing sensation in your ears.
  • If your symptoms don't improve after seven days or you have a temperature
  • If new symptoms appear,

Some side effects may be milder or even non-existent.

Before you take this drug

Lodrane D should not be used if an MAO inhibitor has been taken in the last 14 days. A dangerous drug interaction may occur. MAO inhibitors are isocarboxazid (linezolid), phenelzine (rasagiline), selegiline (tranylcypromine), and rasagiline.This medication should not be used if you have an allergy to brompheniramine or pseudoephedrine.

If you suffer from:

  • A breathing problem, such as emphysema and chronic bronchitis.
  • Diabetes;
  • High blood pressure, heart disease
  • Urination or prostate problems;
  • Glaucoma;
  • Overactive thyroid.

Consult your doctor before taking this medication if you're pregnant or nursing.

Lodrane should not be administered to children younger than six years of age.

How to take Lodrane D?

You can follow the directions on the package or the prescription of your doctor.Antihistamines should not be used to put a child to sleep.Use the measuring device provided to measure liquid medicines (not a spoon from your kitchen).Keep away from moisture and heat at a room temperature.

What happens if I miss the dose?

You may not have a schedule for taking cold medicine, as it is only taken when needed. Take the missed dose immediately if you take the medication regularly. If your next scheduled dosage is near, skip the missed dose. Do not increase your dose to make up for the missed one.

What happens if I overdose?

Call 1-800-222-1222 for poison help or seek immediate medical attention.

What should be avoided?

This medication can affect your ability to think or react. You should be careful when driving or doing anything else that requires you to remain alert.Alcohol can enhance certain side effects from brompheniramine or pseudoephedrine.Before using any other allergy or sleep medication, consult your doctor or pharmacist. Brompheniramine and pseudoephedrine are found in many combination medications. You can get too much Lodrane D by taking certain products together.

Interaction with other drug

Lodrane D can make you more drowsy when taken with other drugs. Before taking an opioid, sleeping pill, muscle relaxer, or medicine to treat anxiety or seizures, consult your doctor.Before using this medication, ask your doctor or pharmacist if you also use any other medications, such as vitamins and herbal remedies. When used together, some medicines can have unwanted or harmful effects. This medication guide does not list all possible interactions.
