What is Isuprel hcl?

Isoproterenol can be used to treat heart block and heart failure. Isoproterenol can also be used to treat bronchospasms that occur when you are under sedation. Isoproterenol can be used in combination with other medications. This medication guide does not list all possible uses of isoproterenol.

Side effects of Isuprel hcl

If you experience any of the following signs and symptoms of an allergic reaction: difficulty breathing, hives, swelling of face, lips or throat and difficulty in swallowing (especially while using oxygen), seek medical assistance immediately: difficulty in breathing (difficulty with oxygen intake or breathing), facial, lip or throat swelling and difficulty swallowing.

If you:

  • If you feel your heart pounding or your chest fluttering, then this is a sign that it's time to seek medical attention.
  • Chest pain;
  • Headache in the neck or ears
  • Difficulty breathing or coughing.
  • Anxiety, pale skin, cold, clammy, or icy skin
  • Feeling dizzy, as though they might faint.

Isuprel hcl can cause the following side effects:

  • Headache, dizziness, nervousness;
  • Nausea;
  • Blurred vision
  • Tremors
  • Flushing (sudden heat, redness, or tingly sensation).

Before you take this drug

If you have any of the following conditions, isoproterenol may not be prescribed to you:

  • Heart problems due to using too much digoxin
  • Chest pain (angina);
  • Certain heart rhythm disorders.

How to take Isuprel hcl?

What happens if i miss the dose?

You are unlikely to miss a dosage of isoproterenol because you will be receiving it in a clinical environment.

What happens if i overdose?

Isuprel hcl will only be administered by a healthcare provider in a medical environment. An overdose is therefore unlikely. You may experience chest pains, pounding, or fast heartbeats and feel lightheaded if you overdose.

What should be avoided?

If your doctor prescribes any restrictions regarding food, beverage, or activity, follow their instructions.
