What is Isopropyl alcohol?

Isopropyl alcohol kills or prevents bacteria from growing on the skin. Topical isopropyl (for skin) helps prevent bacterial infections caused by minor skin cuts and scrapes. In healthcare settings, isopropyl alcohol is used to prevent infections caused by needle punctures.

Use a cotton ball, cotton swab, or cotton gauze to apply a small amount. If you need to use more isopropyl alcohol, throw away the cotton applicator. Use a fresh piece of cotton. Use isopropyl to soothe sore muscles. Apply a generous amount of alcohol and massage it in.
