What is HealthyLax?

HealthyLax increases water levels in the intestinal tract, which stimulates bowel movement.HealthyLax can be used to treat occasional constipation and irregular bowel movements.This medication guide does not list all possible uses for HealthyLax.

Side effects of HealthyLax

If you experience any of the following signs of an allergic reaction: difficulty breathing, hives or swelling in lips, face, throat or tongue. Seek medical assistance immediately.

If you experience any of the following symptoms, stop taking HealthyLax immediately and contact your doctor.

  • Severe diarrhea or bleeding
  • Rectal bleeding
  • Blood in the stool;
  • Severe and increasing stomach pain

Side effects that may occur with HealthyLax include:

  • Bloating, gas, upset stomach;
  • Dizziness;
  • Increased sweating.

Warnings

This medicine should not be used if you suffer from an intestinal obstruction. HealthyLax can have life-threatening or dangerous side effects if you suffer from any of the conditions listed above.HealthyLax should not be used more than once per day. If you still feel constipated after 7 consecutive days of using HealthyLax, call your doctor.

Before you take this drug

HealthyLax should not be used if the user is allergic to polyethylene glycol or has a blockage in their intestine or bowel. HealthyLax could cause dangerous and life-threatening effects if you suffer from any of the conditions listed above.Prior to taking any medication for eating disorders like anorexia and bulimia, individuals should first consult their physician.

Tell your doctor about any of the following to ensure that this medication is right for you:

  • nausea, vomiting, or severe stomach pain;
  • Ulcerative Colitis
  • Irritable Bowel Syndrome
  • Kidney disease
  • If you've had an abrupt change in your bowel habit that has lasted for 2 weeks or more,

FDA pregnancy class CThere is no information on whether HealthyLax can harm an unborn child. If you plan to get pregnant or are already pregnant, tell your doctor.The polyethylene glycol 3350 may pass into the breast milk, but it is unknown if this could cause harm to a baby who was nursing. You should tell your doctor that you are breastfeeding a child.

How to take HealthyLax?

Do not alter the instructions on your prescription. Use this medication only as directed.Do not exceed the recommended dosage or extend its use beyond what is necessary.Use the cap of the container to measure the dose. The inside of the cap will have dose markings. Pour 4–8 ounces (or more) of a cold or warm beverage, such as coffee or tea, water, juice, or soda. This mixture should be stirred and consumed immediately. Don't save it for later.Within 1 to 3 days of taking the medicine, HealthyLax will produce a bowel motion. The normal side effects of this medicine are loose, or sometimes even watery, stools.HealthyLax should not be used more than once per day. If you still feel constipated after 7 consecutive days of using HealthyLax, call your doctor.Keep away from heat and moisture. Store at room temperature.

What happens if I miss the dose?

As soon as possible, take the missed dose.If the time for your next dose approaches quickly, skip any missed ones and move forward as planned. You should not take more medicine to compensate for a missed dose.

What happens if I overdose?

Call 1-800-222-1222 immediately if you suspect poisoning and seek immediate medical advice or call 911 immediately for emergency assistance.

What should be avoided?

If your physician recommends any restrictions regarding food, beverages or activities for you, be sure to follow his or her directions exactly.

Interaction with other drug

Polyethylene glycol 3350 may also interact with other drugs, such as prescription or over-the-counter medications, vitamins, and herbal products. Inform your healthcare providers of all the medicines that you are currently taking and those you plan to start using.
