What is Gyne Lotrimin?

Clotrimazole fights infections that are caused by fungus.The vaginal yeast infection is treated with Lotrimin and Gyne-.This medication guide does not list all possible uses of Gyne-Lotrimin.

Side effects of Gyne-Lotrimin

If you experience any of the following symptoms of an allergic reaction, seek immediate medical attention: hives, difficulty breathing, swelling of the face, lips, or tongue, and swelling of the throat.If you notice any new or worsening symptoms in your vaginal area, call your doctor immediately.

Side effects of Gyne Lotrimin include:

  • A slight increase in vaginal discomfort.

Before you take this drug

If you have an allergy to Gyne-Lotrimin, then it is best not to use this product.Ask your doctor if this is the very first time that you've ever experienced symptoms of a vaginal fungus infection.Inform your doctor if more than three vaginal infections have occurred within the last six months. If you have frequent vaginal infections and they don't clear up after treatment, it could be an indication of a serious condition.

If you suffer from any other medical condition, such as:

  • Fever; chills; pain in the back or shoulder
  • Stomach pain, vomiting;
  • Foul-smelling vaginal discharge;
  • Diabetes
  • Hiv or

FDA pregnancy class B Gyne Lotrimin should not harm an unborn child. You should tell your doctor if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant while taking the medication.If you are breastfeeding a child, do not use Gyne Lotrimin without consulting your doctor.This medicine should not be given to children younger than 12 without consulting a doctor.

How to take Gyne Lotrimin?

Do not exceed the recommended dosage or duration. Use the recommended dose and do not exceed it.After using the medication, wash your hands.Use the applicator to insert the tablet, cream, or suppository into the vagina.Even during your period, take this medication for the entire prescribed time. You may experience symptom improvement before the virus has been completely eradicated. Consult your doctor if the infection doesn't clear up or appears to be getting worse.If your symptoms persist for more than a week or do not improve within 3 days, call your doctor. Inform your doctor immediately if you experience a skin rash, hives, or stomach pain. Nausea and vomiting are also common symptoms.Use a sanitary towel to avoid the medication staining your clothes. Do not use a tampon.Store in an environment free from heat and moisture at room temperature.

What happens if I miss the dose?

Once you recall, take the missed dose immediately. If your next scheduled dosage is approaching, skip the missed dose. You should not take extra medicine to compensate for a missed dose.

Contact 1-800-222-1222 immediately in case of poison exposure and seek immediate medical advice or professional medical treatment.

What should be avoided?

Avoid sexual contact. The use of Gyne-Lotrimin does not stop the spread of infection to your partner. Clotrimazole can damage a condom or diaphragm. If you use these birth control methods during treatment, they may not be as effective.Do not get this medication in your nose, eyes, or mouth.Avoid wearing clothing with tight-fitting synthetic fabrics that prevent air circulation. Clothing made from loose cotton or other natural fibres should be worn until the infection has healed.

Interaction with other drug

Other drugs may interact with Gyne Lotrimin. Inform your doctor of all the medications you take. Included are prescription, over-the-counter, vitamin, and herbal products. Never start a new medicine without consulting your doctor.
