Generic Name: Butoconazole Vaginal [byoo-toe CON-a-zole]

What is Gynazole-1?

Butoconazole fights infections that are caused by fungi.Gynazole-1 is used for vaginal Candida infections.Gynazole-1 can be used in other ways not mentioned in the medication guide.

Side effects of Gynazole-1

If you experience any of the following symptoms of an allergy reaction, seek immediate medical attention: difficulty breathing, hives, swelling in your lips, face, throat, or tongue.

If you notice any new symptoms or if they worsen, call your doctor immediately.

Side effects that may occur with Gynazole-1 include:

  • Pelvic pain or cramps
  • Itching or vaginal burning
  • Vaginal swelling and pain
  • Mild vaginal irritation after use.

Before you take this drug

If you have an allergy to Gynazole-1, do not use it.Tell your doctor all of your health conditions to ensure that Gynazole-1 will not cause any harm.Unknown is whether gynazole-1 can harm an unborn child. Inform your doctor that you are expecting Butoconazole vaginal does not pass into the breast milk. It is also unknown if this drug could cause harm to a baby who was nursing. You should tell your doctor that you are breastfeeding a child.This medication should not be given to any person under the age of 18 without consulting a doctor.

How to take Gynazole-1?

Gynazole-1 can be taken in a single dose. Please follow all the instructions on the prescription label. Use this medication only as directed. Do not exceed the recommended dosage or use it for an extended period of time.Gynazole-1 should not be taken orally. Use it only on your vagina.The patient's instructions accompany this medicine to ensure safe and efficient use. Please follow the instructions carefully. If you have questions, don't hesitate to speak with either your pharmacist or physician.Applicators are intended for only one single use. After one usage, throw away the applicator, even if it still has some medication in it.If your symptoms don't improve or your infection returns, call your doctor. If you have frequent vaginal infections and they don't clear up after treatment, it could be an indication of something more serious.Gynazole-1 is a mineral oil that can cause the latex rubber to weaken in condoms and diaphragms. If you take these birth controls during treatment, they may not be as effective. While you're using butoconazole, and for 3 days following your treatment, use another method of contraception.Keep away from heat and moisture. Gynazole-1 should not be heated up before use.

What happens if I miss the dose?

Gynazole-1 does not require a schedule of daily dosages because it is only used in a single-dose form.

What happens if I overdose?

Overdoses are unlikely since Gynazole-1 comes in a single-dose prefilled application.

What should be avoided?

Wear loose-fitting clothing made of natural fibres and cotton. Avoid tight-fitting synthetic clothing, such as nylon pants or underwear. Wear loose clothing, such as cotton or other natural fibres, until the infection has healed.Do not use other vaginal creams or products while using Gynazole-1 unless you have been told to by your doctor.

Interaction with other drug

Butoconazole in vaginal use is unlikely to interact with other medications you may take. Many drugs interact. Inform your health care providers of all the medicines that you take, including over-the-counter and prescription medications, vitamins, and herbs.
