What is Goniosoft?

is a common name for hydroxypropylmethylcellulose.Use Goniosoft for the Eyes to lubricate dry, irritated, and painful eyes.Goniosoft can also be used to maintain the shape of an eye and protect its tissues from injury.Goniosoft can also be used to determine if fluid is draining properly from your eye and to protect the cornea.This medication guide does not list all possible uses of Goniosoft.

Side effects of Goniosoft

Symptoms of allergic reaction that require immediate medical intervention: hives, difficulty breathing or swelling in lips, face, tongue or throat.

Goniosoft may cause serious side effects. If you experience:

  • Redness of the eye or itching.
  • Vision changes
  • Eyelids that are puffy or droopy
  • A lump or swelling on your eyelid

Goniosoft can cause the following side effects:

  • Dry eyes

Before you take this drug

Tell your doctor if glaucoma has ever affected you.Inform your doctor immediately if you become pregnant or nursing.Do not give Goniosoft without consulting a doctor.

How to take Goniosoft?

Read all instructions or guides that come with your medication and follow all directions. Follow the directions on the label.Before using eye medications, wash your hands.Applying eye drops is as simple as tilting your head back and pulling down your lower eyelid. Squeeze a few drops into the pocket created by holding the dropper over the eye. Close your eyes for a minute or two.Only use the prescribed number of drops.Avoid touching the tip or placing it directly on your eye. If the dropper is contaminated, it can cause serious vision problems.If the medication appears cloudy or has a different colour, do not use it.If your symptoms don't improve within 72 hours or worsen, call your doctor.Keep this medication at room temperature. Store at room temperature. When not in use, keep the bottle tightly sealed.Goniosoft can be administered by a health care professional during an eye examination or eye operation.

What happens if I miss the dose?

You may not have a regular dosing regimen since Goniosoft can be used as needed. If your next dose is near, skip any missed doses. Never take two doses in one go.

What happens if I overdose?

Call the Poison Help Line immediately on 1-800-222-1222, if someone accidentally swallowed medication; otherwise seek emergency medical help immediately if a medication was accidentally swallowed by accident.

What should be avoided?

Use only when wearing soft lenses. Goniosoft contains a preservative that could permanently stain lenses. Use the medication at least 15 minutes prior to inserting your contacts.

Interaction with other drug

Other drugs that you take are unlikely to affect the medicine used on your eyes. Many drugs interact with each other. Inform your healthcare provider about the medicines you take, including prescriptions and over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, and herbal products.
