What is Fluzone High-Dose Quadrivalent PF 2022-2023?

Influenza (the flu) is an infectious viral illness spread via air or surface contact.The flu symptoms include fevers, chills, and fatigue, as well as aches and a sore throat. Other symptoms are vomiting, diarrhea, nausea, and coughing. Flu can cause sinus infections and ear infections. It may also lead to bronchitis or more serious complications, like pneumonitis. Influenza is responsible for thousands of deaths and hospitalizations each year. Children, pregnant women, and older adults are at greatest risk, as are people with weakened immune systems, cancer, diabetes, or heart disease. Fluzone Quadrivalent is intended for adults and children aged at least six months to help prevent influenza virus infection. This vaccine will help your body build immunity against the disease. It won't treat an infection that you have already contracted.

Fluzone Quadrivalent High-Dose PF 2022-2023 has been redeveloped every year and contains specific strains (killed flu viruses) of the inactivated virus recommended by health officials. Fluzone High Dose Quadrivalent (flu shot) PF 2022-2023 is made of "killed virus." This medicine is available as a nasal spray, which is a "live virus" vaccination. The information in this medication guide is only for the injectable version of this vaccine. Fluzone High Dose Quadrivalent (PF 2022-2023) may not protect everyone from illness.

Side Effects of Fluzone High-Dose Quadrivalent PF 2022-2023

If you experience any of the following signs and symptoms of an allergic reaction: hives, difficulty breathing, lip, face, tongue or throat swelling and/or redness/itching; seek medical assistance immediately: hives; difficulty with your breathing; lip, face or throat swelling and/or redness or itching. If you experienced a severe allergic reaction to the first dose, then a booster shot is not recommended. Keep a record of all your side effects. You will need to inform the vaccine provider if you are receiving a Fluzone High-Dose Quadrivalent PF 2020-2023 in the future and if you experienced any side effects from the previous shot. Fluzone High Dose Quadrivalent is made of "killed virus" and won't make you sick with flu virus. During flu season, you may experience flu-like symptoms that are caused by another strain of the influenza virus.

Fluzone Quadrivalent High-Dose PF 2022-2023 can cause serious side effects. If you experience:

  • A feeling of lightheadedness, as if you could pass out.
  • You may experience a sudden and severe feeling of weakness in your arms or legs.
  • Feelings of numbness or pain;
  • Hearing or vision problems
  • A fever above 101 degrees F

Fluzone High-Dose Quaquarivalent PF-2022-2023 can cause the following side effects:

  • Pain, redness, or tenderness; swelling, bruising, or a lump at the site of the injection
  • Diarrhoea, loss of appetite
  • Muscle pain;
  • Headache, tiredness;
  • In a child, fussiness, crying, or drowsiness are common.

Warnings

Fluzone High Dose Quadrivalent is made of "killed virus" and won't make you sick with the flu virus.

Before you take this drug

This vaccine may not be available to you if you have an allergy to eggs or previous severe reactions to flu vaccines.

If you:

  • A weak immune system, caused by a disease or certain medicines.
  • Feeling dizzy, as though you could faint.

If you are currently suffering from a minor cold, vaccination could provide protection. Wait until you are better if you have a severe illness, such as a fever or infection. Inform your vaccine provider if you are pregnant or nursing. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommend that women who are pregnant get a flu vaccine during any trimester to protect their babies and themselves from the flu. It is not recommended that pregnant women use the nasal spray version of the influenza vaccine.

How to take Fluzone High-Dose Quadrivalent PF 2022-2023?

This vaccine is not recommended for children. Your child's vaccine provider can recommend which Fluzone Quadrivalent High-Dose PF 2022-2023 is best for your child. This vaccine is administered as an injection into a muscle. A second vaccine may be needed for children aged 6 months to 8 months after the first one. Fluzone Quadrivalent High-Dose PF 2022-2023 Fluzone is normally administered in November or October. You should follow the instructions of your doctor or those recommended by your local department of health. Fluzone High-Dose Quadrivalent PF 2020–2023 is developed each year to target specific strains. You should therefore receive a flu shot every year.

What happens if I miss the dose?

If you have forgotten to get your annual flu shot in November or October, or if you or your child have missed a booster dose, call your doctor.

What happens if I overdose?

It is very unlikely that this vaccine will cause an overdose.

What should be avoided?

If your vaccine provider has given you any instructions regarding restrictions in food, beverage, or activity, follow them.

Interaction with other drug

You may be unable to get the vaccine if you are taking any of these drugs, or you may have to wait until your other treatments are complete.

  • Steroid medicine;
  • Treatment of psoriasis or arthritis.
  • Medicines to treat or prevent transplant rejection
