What is Fibricor?
Fibricor reduces cholesterol and triglycerides in the blood. These types of fats are linked to an increased risk of atherosclerosis. Fibricor can be given in combination with other medications that lower cholesterol. Fibricor can also be used in other ways not mentioned in this guide.
Side effects of Fibricor
If you experience symptoms of an allergic response (hives or difficulty breathing, swelling on your face or in your throat), or a severe reaction to the skin (fever or a sore throat; burning in your eyeballs, skin pain or redness, or a rash with blistering or peeling skin), seek emergency medical attention. Fibricor may cause kidney failure in rare cases. If you experience unexplained pain, tenderness, or weakness, call your doctor immediately, especially if there is a fever, unusual fatigue, or dark-colored urine.
Call your doctor immediately if you:
- Sharp stomach pain spreading into your shoulder blade or back
- Loss of appetite and stomach pain after eating;
- Jaundice refers to a yellowing of skin and eyes.
- Fever, chills, and weakness; sore throats, mouth sores, or unusual bleeding
- Chest pain, sudden cough, wheezing, rapid breathing, coughing blood
- The swelling, warmth, or redness of an arm or a leg
Fibricor can cause the following side effects:
- Runny nose and sneezing
- Abnormal laboratory tests

Warnings
Fibricor should not be taken if you suffer from gallbladder disease or severe kidney disease.
Fibricor may cause muscle breakdown, which could lead to kidney failure. If you experience unexplained weakness, muscle tenderness, or pain, call your doctor immediately, especially if there is a fever, unusual fatigue, or dark urine.
Before you take this drug
This medicine should not be taken if:
- If you have severe kidney disease and/or are receiving dialysis treatment, or are presently on dialysis treatments, here is some vital information that could assist.
- Liver disease
- Gallbladder disease
Do not breastfeed for 5 days after taking this medication.
Tell your doctor immediately of any of the following issues:
- Kidney disease
- Liver disease
- Gallbladder Problems
Fibricor may cause muscle breakdown, leading to kidney failure. It is more common in people with kidney disease, diabetes, hypothyroidism (underactive thyroid), or older adults. This medicine is not known to harm an unborn child. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant. Fibricor cannot be used by anyone under the age of 18.
How to take Fibricor?
Read and follow all instructions provided with your medication, whether written by yourself or an official source. Sometimes your physician may alter the dose; when this occurs you must take your medicine as directed. Fibricor can be taken with or without food. Do not open, crush, dissolve, or chew the capsule or tablet. You may need to undergo frequent medical tests. Tests can be used to determine the effectiveness of Fibricor, even if there are no symptoms. Fibricor may be part of a comprehensive treatment program that includes diet, exercise, and weight management, as well as other medications. Be sure to follow your diet, medications, and exercise regimens closely. Store away from heat and moisture at room temperature.
What happens if I miss the dose?
If you are almost due for your next dose, skip the missed one.Never double up on any medicine at one time. This may result in potentially lethal consequences.

What should be avoided?
Fibricor is less effective if you avoid foods that are high in cholesterol or fat. Avoid alcohol. Alcohol can increase triglyceride and liver damage risks.
Interaction with other drug
Fibricor can be less effective if taken with certain medicines. Take this medicine one hour before or four to six hours after taking the other medication.
- Cholestyramine;
- Colesevelam;
- Colestipol.
Inform your physician of any other medications taken, such as:
- Other cholesterol-lowering medications
- Colchicine;
- A blood thinner, such as warfarin coumadin jantoven
- Drugs that suppress the immune system, such as chemotherapy, steroids, and drugs to prevent transplant rejection,
