What is Fe C?

Citrus fruits, tomatoes, potatoes, and green leafy vegetables contain ascorbic acid. The skin, connective tissue, normal hormonal and chemical production, and the immune system all benefit from ascorbic acid. Carbonyl iron refers to a mineral called iron. Iron plays many critical roles within our bodies, from transporting oxygen to various functions within cells and nerve endings.The combination of vitamin C and the mineral Fe C helps the body absorb iron better from food. This medication guide does not list all possible uses for FeC.

Side effects of Fe C

If you experience difficulty breathing, hives, lip, face or tongue swelling as symptoms of an allergy: difficulty in inhaling, difficulty exhaling and/or swelling within any one or more of these categories: lips, face throat tongue

Fe C side effects may include:

  • Nausea, upset stomach;

  • Constipation;

  • Diarrhea.

This product should be stored safely out of reach from children. Iron-containing products are a major cause of fatal iron poisoning among children younger than 6.

Before you take this drug

If you have an allergy to FeC, then it is best not to use this product. If you suffer from allergies or any other health conditions, ask your doctor or pharmacist whether it's safe to use this medication. You may be unable to take Fe C in some situations or may require a dosage adjustment or other special precautions. You may need a different dose during pregnancy and while nursing. This medication should not be given to children without consulting a doctor.

How to take Fe C?

Do not exceed the recommended dosage or duration. Use the recommended dose and do not exceed it. Tablets should never be broken, crushed, chewed on, or crushed into smaller pieces. Do not chew or break the tablet. Take Fe C with an empty stomach, at least one hour before a meal or two hours after. If you have a stomach upset, it is possible to take FeC with food. Keep away from heat and moisture. It should also be stored safely out of reach from young children.Iron-containing products are a major cause of poisoning fatalities in children younger than 6.If you suspect an accidental overdose of iron-containing products, contact poison control or seek immediate medical care immediately.

What happens if I miss the dose?

As soon as possible, take the missed dose.If your next dose is near, take only that dosage instead. If any missed medication dose has an upcoming due date, disregard any previously missed ones and wait to take it with the subsequent one. You should not take more medicine to compensate for a missed dose.

What happens if I overdose?

Call the Poison Help Line on 1800222-1222 if experiencing poison ingestion and seek emergency medical assistance if required. Iron overdose can have fatal consequences, particularly in children. Iron overdose symptoms include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, bloody stools or bloody sputum, pale skin, and a rapid heartbeat. Other symptoms include numbness, coldness, blue lips, and wheezing.

What should be avoided?

Do not take Fe C 2 hours prior to or following the taking of any other medicine, including an anti-biotic. The body may have a harder time absorbing certain medications you consume orally if Fe C is taken.

Interaction with other drug

Ascorbic acid, carbonyl ferr, and other drugs can interact. These include prescription, over-the-counter, and herbal medicines. Inform your healthcare providers of all the medicines that you are currently taking and those that you plan to start using.
