What is Dermasorb XM?

This leaflet does not list all brands or forms of topical urea available on the market. This medication may also help soften damaged fingernails or toenails so they can be safely extracted without surgery. The medicine can also be used to soften toenails and fingernails that are damaged so that they may be easily removed. Dermasorb XM can be used in other ways not mentioned in the medication guide.

Side effects of Dermasorb XM

If you experience any of the following symptoms of an allergy reaction, seek immediate medical attention: Hives, difficulty breathing, swelling in your lips, face, throat, or tongue

Dermasorb XM may cause serious side effects. If you experience:

  • Severe redness and irritation on the treated skin.

Side effects common to Dermasorb XM include:

  • Itching is mild.
  • Mild burning or stinging.

Before you take this drug

If you have an allergy to Dermasorb XM, then it is best not to use the product. FDA pregnancy class CThere is no information on whether Dermasorb XM can harm an unborn child. If you're pregnant, do not take Dermasorb XM unless your doctor has prescribed it. The urea does not pass into the breast milk. It is also unknown if it can harm nursing babies. If you're breastfeeding a child, do not take this medication without consulting your doctor.

How to take Dermasorb XM?

Dermasorb XM comes in many forms for application on skin and scalp (creams, lotions, ointments, liquids, gels, foams, shampoos, etc.).Follow the directions provided on your label or by your physician and only take the dose that has been recommended; do not exceed it! Take Dermasorb XM only on the skin. Dermasorb XM should only be used on skin. Rinse with water if this medicine gets into your eyes, nose, or mouth. Cleanse or soap the area to be treated, using a mild cleanser or soap, before proceeding to treat. Dermasorb XM works best if you leave the treated skin or nails slightly moist before applying the medication. This medicine should be applied as thinly as possible to the affected skin and rubbed in.

Avoid getting Dermasorb XM on your cuticles and surrounding skin when applying Dermasorb XM. Allow the medication to dry before applying it generously. If your doctor recommends it, you can cover the nail with gauze or a bandage.After some days have passed, it should be possible to easily extract and discard your treated nail. Before each use of Dermasorb XM Foam or other forms of medication, be sure to shake well for best results. Also make sure that any form of the medicine are shaken prior to being applied topically. Please follow all instructions on the medicine's label. After applying the medicine to your skin, wash your hands thoroughly with soap and warm water. If your symptoms don't improve or worsen while you are using Dermasorb XM, call your doctor. Keep away from heat and moisture. Store at a temperature that is comfortable. Store at room temperature, away from moisture and heat. When not being used, keep the container of medicine tightly sealed. The foam canister should be kept away from flames or heat.If the canister becomes overheated, it could potentially explode and burst. Empty foam canisters should not be punctured or burned.

What happens if I miss the dose?

As soon as possible, take the dose you missed. If it is close to time for your next dose, skip any missed one.You should not take extra medication to compensate for a missed dose.

What happens if I overdose?

Call 1-800-222-1222 immediately if you suspect poisoning and seek immediate medical care.

What should be avoided?

Dermasorb XM should not be used in areas with open wounds or burns. Rinse with water if this medication enters your nose, mouth, or rectum.

Interaction with other drug

The urea applied topically is unlikely to be affected by other drugs that you may take orally or even inject. Many drugs interact. Inform your healthcare providers of all the medicines that you take, including over-the-counter and prescription medicines, vitamins, and herbal products.
