To use ciclopirox nail lacquer:
- Simply apply it directly onto your nail and skin in its immediate surroundings. Avoid contact with any other area. Use nail clippers or a file to remove any nail or nail material that is loose.
- Use the included applicator brush to apply ciclopirox nail polish once daily, preferably before bedtime. The lacquer should be applied evenly to the nail. Apply the nail lacquer, if possible, to the underside and skin underneath the nail. Allow the nail lacquer (approximately 30 seconds) to dry before you put on your socks or stockings. Wait 8 hours from when you apply the medication before bathing or showering.
- Apply the ciclopirox nail varnish daily over your previous coat. Remove the nail lacquer once a week with alcohol. Use nail clippers or a nail file to remove as much of the damaged part as possible.
- Close the bottle tightly after each use to prevent the solution from drying out. Each time you use it, make sure the bottle is securely closed so as to protect the solution from drying out and becoming inevitability.
As with most treatments, ciclopirox may take several months before noticeable results become evident. Full treatment could take as long as 48 weeks in which to apply daily nail lacquer application by the patient and have each infected nail removed monthly by a healthcare professional. Trim the nail weekly by themselves. Do not stop taking the medicine before it is completely cleared. Before your infection has cleared entirely, symptoms may still exist and missing doses could increase your chance of reinfection resistant to antifungal medication. If this occurs, taking necessary measures might increase chances of recovery and minimize risks in future outbreaks. All forms of this medication should be stored at room temperature, away from moisture, light, and heat. After opening a bottle, you should use it within 8 weeks. Ciclopirox nail lacquer can ignite. Do not use it near an open flame, and don't smoke until your gel is completely dry.
