What is Charlotte 24 Fe?

Charlotte 24 Fe contains a combination of female hormones to prevent ovulation. This medication may also alter your cervical mucus or uterine lining to make it harder for sperm and fertilised eggs to reach your uterus. This could make pregnancy harder.Charlotte 24 Fe can be used to prevent pregnancy. Charlotte 24 Fe can also be used to treat moderate acne among women over 15 who have begun menstruating and wish to take birth-control pills. There are several brands of ethinyl esteradiol and norethindrone. This leaflet does not list all brands.Charlotte 24 Fe can be used in other ways not mentioned in this guide.

Side effects of Charlotte 24 Fe

If you experience any of the following symptoms of an allergic reaction, seek immediate medical attention: difficulty breathing, hives, swelling of the face, lips, or throat.

This medicine can cause serious side effects. If you experience:

  • Signs of stroke: sudden numbness, weakness, headaches, slurred words, vision problems, balance issues;
  • Signs of a blood clot in the lungs: chest pain, sudden cough, shortness of breath, or dizziness;
  • Signs of a deep blood clot—pain, swelling, or warmth in a leg;
  • Heart attack symptoms include chest pain, pressure or pain that spreads to the jaw or shoulder area, nausea, and sweating.
  • Liver problems: swelling around the midsection of your body; upper right stomach pain; loss of appetite; dark urine or stools with clay colours; jaundice.
  • Increased blood pressure—severe headache, blurred or distorted vision, or a pounding sensation in the neck, ears, or head;
  • Depression is characterised by mood changes, low self-esteem, sleep disturbances, and thoughts of harming yourself.
  • A breast lump or swelling of the hands, feet, ankles, or legs
  • A change in the frequency or intensity of migraine headaches

Charlotte 24 Fe side effects may include:

  • Nausea, vomiting;
  • Breast tenderness or bleeding.
  • Headache or contact lens problems

Warnings

Try not to use birth control pills while pregnant or after having given birth.Do not use birth-control pills if: you are uncontrolled; you have high blood pressure; you have heart disease; you have coronary artery diseases; you have circulation problems, especially with diabetes; you have undiagnosed bleeding in the vaginal area; you have liver disease; or you have liver cancer. Also, do not take birth control pills. If your blood pressure is uncontrolled and you smoke, if a blood clot has occurred, ifSmoking or taking birth control pills, especially if over 35 years old, can increase the risk of blood clots or strokes.

Before you take this drug

Birth control pills may increase your risk of blood clots or strokes. If you have diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, or are overweight, you're at an even greater risk. Strokes and blood clots are most prevalent during the first year you use birth control pills, with additional risk when starting back after taking them after an absence of 4 weeks or longer.Smoking increases your risk of stroke, heart attack and birth-control pill-induced blood clots if you're 35 or over, especially for women who use hormone contraception such as birth control pills.Do not use it if you are pregnant. Stop using Charlotte 24 Fe immediately if you are pregnant or if your period has been missed for two consecutive periods. Wait at least four weeks postpartum if you just gave birth.

If you are pregnant, or if:

  • Untreated or uncontrolled hypertension or heart disease
  • An increased risk of blood clots as a result of a heart condition or hereditary blood disorder
  • Circulatory problems (especially when caused by diabetes);
  • A history of cancers of the breast, uterus, cervix, or vagina
  • Abnormal vaginal bleeding not addressed by a healthcare provider;
  • Liver disease or liver cancer
  • Migraine headaches may become worse with age - particularly for people over 35.
  • Pregnancy or birth control pill exposure have a strong potential of leading to jaundice symptoms in infants and/or toddlers, respectively.
  • Are You Older Than 35 and Smoke
  • You should consult your physician if taking any hepatitis C medicines containing ombitasvir, paritaprevir or ritonavir alongside dasabuvir.

Inform your physician of any of the following issues:

  • If you suffer from cardiovascular conditions, high blood pressure or are susceptible to blood clots then this product could be beneficial.
  • If you have high cholesterol, triglycerides, or are overweight,
  • Depression;
  • A seizure or migraine headache;
  • Thyroid hyperactivity and gallbladder diseases.
  • Liver or kidney disease
  • Uneven menstrual cycles, fibrocystic breast disease, lumps, nodules, or abnormal mammograms

Ask your doctor if you can safely breastfeed while taking this medication.

How to take Charlotte 24 Fe?

Read all instructions or guides that come with your medication and follow all directions. Follow the directions on the label.When you first begin using this medication, it may be necessary to use a backup birth control method, such as condoms containing spermicide. You should follow your doctor's advice.One pill per day is recommended, but no more than one every 24 hours. Start a new package the next day when the pills are finished. If you don't take one pill every day, you may become pregnant.These pills are designed to remind you of your normal cycle. Your period will often start soon after taking the reminder pills.If you experience diarrhoea or vomiting, use additional contraception for protection.

You could have been bleeding through the skin.If it persists or worsens significantly, be sure to inform your physician as soon as possible.You may have to temporarily stop taking this medication if you are going to be undergoing major surgery or confined for long periods of time. You should let any doctor or surgeon that treats you know you're taking Charlotte 24 Fe.You will need to see your doctor regularly if you are taking birth control pills.Store away from heat and moisture at room temperature.

What happens if I miss the dose?

Read all instructions or guides that accompany your medication carefully.You are more likely to become pregnant if you miss a pill.Take two pills the next day if you forget to take one. Take 1 pill a day for the remainder of the pack.If you missed two consecutive active pills during Weeks 1-2, take two pills every other day until those two missed pills have been consumed.Take one pill a day for the remainder of the package.Once a pill has been missed, use an alternative birth control method for at least seven days as backup protection.

If you missed two active pills consecutively in Week 3, you can throw the remaining pack out and start another pack on the same day if you started Day 1. If you started on Sunday, take one pill every day until Sunday when discard the remainder and start over with another pack.If you missed 3 active pills consecutively in Weeks 1, 2, and 3, you can throw the rest out and start over with a new package on the same date if you started Day 1.If you started on Sunday, take one pill every day until Sunday when discard the remainder and start over with another pack.You may not get a period if you miss two or more active pills. Call your doctor if you have missed a period in two consecutive months. You might be pregnant.If you forget a pill reminder, just throw it away and take one daily reminder pill until your pack of reminder pills are finished.

What happens if I overdose?

Call the Poison Help Line on 1800222-1222 if experiencing poison ingestion and seek emergency medical assistance immediately.An overdose can cause nausea or bleeding.

What should be avoided?

Do not smoke while taking birth control pills, especially if you're older than 35.Birth control pills do not protect against sexually transmissible diseases like HIV and AIDS; condom use alone will protect from these risks.

Interaction with other drug

Inform your physician of any medications taken other than those listed above, including:

  • Rifampin;
  • Troglitazone;
  • Atorvastatin;
  • Glecaprevir/pibrentasvir;
  • Anticonvulsants such as phenobarbital (antiepileptics), phenytoin, and carbamazepine.
