What is Capex?

Capex is a steroid used to treat inflammation and itching due to skin conditions that respond to steroid medications. Capex can also be used in other ways not mentioned in this guide.

Side effects of Capex

If you experience any of the following symptoms of an allergic reaction, seek immediate medical attention: hives, difficulty breathing, swelling of your lips, face, tongue, or throat.

Capex can cause serious side effects. Contact your doctor immediately if:

  • Skin conditions are worsening;
  • Redness, heat, swelling and severe irritation on any area of the skin must be immediately treated in order to return it back to its healthy condition.
  • Sugar levels that are too high; increased thirst; an increase in urination; dry mouth with fruity breath odor are indicators that an insulin imbalance exists in your system.
  • Capex can be absorbed through the skin. Possible signs include weight gain, especially in the face, upper back, and torso; slow wound healing; discolored or thinning skin; muscle weakness; vomiting; diarrhea fatigue; and mood changes.

Capex can have the following side effects:

  • Burning, itching or irritation to the treated skin are no signs that it's being managed correctly.
  • Increased hair growth
  • White or "pruned", appearance of the skin
  • Rash, pimples,
  • Changes to the colour of treated skin

Warnings

Please read and heed all instructions listed on your medication's label or package before beginning use. Make sure your healthcare provider knows about any existing medical conditions, allergies and/or medicines you are taking.

Before you take this drug

Capex should not be used by anyone who is allergic to the product.

Inform your physician of any of the following issues:

  • Any type of skin infection
  • A skin reaction to steroid medicines;
  • Liver disease
  • An adrenal gland disorder is a condition that affects the adrenal gland.

Steroid medications may lead to elevated glucose levels in both urine and blood. Inform your doctor if you have diabetes. Capex is not known to harm an unborn child. Inform your physician as soon as you become pregnant or plan on becoming pregnant.

While taking this medication, breastfeeding may no longer be possible. You should ask your doctor if there are any risks. Avoid areas where the mouth of a baby may be in contact with fluocinolone.

This medicine should not be given to children without consulting a doctor. This medicine can be absorbed more easily by children through their skin, and they may experience side effects.

How to take Capex?

Read all instructions or guides that come with your medication and follow all directions. Follow the directions on the label. Take it only by mouth. Topical medicines are only to be used on the skin.

Please read and follow all instructions for use that come with your medication. If the instructions do not make sense to you, consult with either your physician or pharmacist immediately. Use fluocinolone only to treat your skin. Rub a thin layer on the affected area of skin. Apply medicine only as instructed by your physician. Do not attempt to apply it over an area greater than you've been told to by using large brush strokes when applying medication on large surfaces.

Only cover your treated area on advice of your physician. Covering the treated area can increase the amount of medicine absorbed by your skin and cause adverse effects. Use only loose-fitting plastic diapers if treating the diaper area. Just before using, shake fluocinolone shampoo thoroughly. Apply the shampoo to your scalp, work it into a lather, and rinse thoroughly after five minutes.

If your symptoms don't improve within 2 weeks, call your doctor. Do not abruptly stop taking fluocinolone. You should follow your doctor's advice about reducing your dose. Store away from moisture or heat at room temperature. Store at room temperature, away from moisture and heat.

What happens if I miss the dose?

If you are close to your next dose, skip the missed dose. Never apply two doses at once.

What happens if I overdose?

If anyone accidentally swallows the medication, seek emergency medical care or call Poison Help at 1-800-222-1222. Capex is a drug that can cause a number of side effects, including thinning of the skin, bruising easily, changes in body weight (especially on your face, neck, and back), acne, facial hair growth, menstrual issues, impotence, or loss of interest.

What should be avoided?

Capex should not be applied to the face, underarms, or groyne. Capex should not be used to treat skin conditions that have not been examined by your physician.

Interaction with other drug

Other drugs that you take are unlikely to affect the medicine applied to your skin. Many drugs interact with each other. Inform your healthcare provider about the medicines you take, including vitamins and herbal remedies.
