What is Azithromycin 3-Day Dose?
Azithromycin 3-Day Dose Pack is used for treating many types of bacterial infections, such as infections in the sinuses, throats, tonsils, and skin. It can also be prescribed to treat infections in the urinary system, cervix, or genitals.This medication guide does not list all possible uses for the Azithromycin 3-Day Dose Pack.
Side effects of Azithromycin 3-Day Dose Pack
If you experience symptoms of an allergy (hives) or a skin reaction that is severe (fever or sore throat with burning eyes, blistering or peeling skin, or red or purple skin rash), then seek emergency medical attention.If you experience a severe drug reaction, seek medical attention. Symptoms include a skin rash or hives, swollen or enlarged glands, a fever, severe muscle pain, bruising or yellowing, and unusual weakness.
Azithromycin 3-Day Dose Pack can cause severe side effects. If you experience:
- Severe abdominal pain, diarrhea, watery or bleeding
- If you experience rapid or pounding pulses, heart fluttering, shortness of breath, sudden dizziness, it could be a sign that your body is about to collapse.
- Liver problems: nausea; vomiting; loss of appetite (upper right-hand side); tiredness. Itching. Dark urine. Clay-colored stools. Jaundice.
If your baby vomits or becomes irritable while nursing or eating, call your doctor immediately.
The heart rhythm of older adults can be affected by side effects, such as a potentially life-threatening rapid heart rate.
Azithromycin 3-day dose pack side effects may include:
- Nausea, vomiting,
- Stomach pain.

Warning
Azithromycin is not recommended for those who have had severe allergic reactions to similar drugs, such as a data-type="auto" href="https://www.drugs.com/clarithromycin.html", a data-type="auto" href="https://www.drugs.com/mtm/erythromycin-ophthalmic.html", or if they are currently taking Azithromycin. Azithromycin is not recommended for those who have had a serious allergic reaction after taking similar medications such as clarithromycin or erythromycin.
Before you take this drug
Azithromycin is not recommended for people who are allergic or have had any of the following:
- Azithromycin 3-Day Dose Pack can cause liver or jaundice problems.
- A severe reaction is caused by similar medications such as clarithromycin or erythromycin.
Azithromycin 3-Day Dose Pack Oral should not be used for treating pneumonitis when a person has:
- Cystic fibrosis
- An infection that occurs after being hospitalized;
- An infection of the blood
- A weak immune system, caused by diseases like hiv/aids and cancer;
- In older adults and in those with illnesses or disabilities.
If you've ever:
- Pneumonia;
- Liver or kidney disease
- Myasthenia gravis;
- Low potassium levels in the blood
- A heart rhythm disorder,
- Long qt syndrome
This medicine has not been proven to be effective for treating genital ulcers in women.Inform your doctor of any pregnancy or breastfeeding. Azithromycin 3-Day Dose Pack taken while nursing may result in diarrhea, vomiting, or rash.Azithromycin 3-Day Dose Pack should not be used by children younger than six months. The Azithromycin 3-Day Dose Pack is not approved for use by anyone younger than 6 months old.
How to take Azithromycin 3-Day Dose?
Read all the instructions or guides that come with your medication and follow all the directions. Follow the directions on your prescription label.Azithromycin 3-Day Dose Pack Oral is consumed by mouth. Azithromycin 3-Day Dose Pack is administered as an intravenous infusion, typically for two days prior to switching over to Azithromycin 3-Day Dose Pack orally. This injection will be given by a healthcare professional.Take the Azithromycin 3-Day Dose Pack orally with or without meals.Before measuring a dosage, shake the orally suspended liquid. You can use the provided dosing device or a dose-measuring device.Even if you feel better quickly, continue to take Azithromycin 3-Day Dose-Pack for the entire prescribed time. You can get resistant to infections if you skip doses. Azithromycin 3-Day Dose Pack does not treat a virus, such as the flu or common cough.Keep away from heat and moisture. After 10 days, throw away all unused liquid medicines.
What happens if I miss the dose?
If you are almost due for the next dose, skip the missed one. Never take more than one dose at a time.
What happens if I overdose?
Call 1-800-222-1222 for poison help or seek immediate medical attention.
Avoid this
Antibiotic medicine can cause diarrhea. This may indicate a new illness. Call your doctor if you experience diarrhea that's watery or bleeding.Azithromycin 3-Day Dose Pack can cause you to get sunburn easier. Avoid tanning or sunlight. When you're outdoors, wear protective clothing and use sunblock with SPF 30 or greater.
Interaction with other drug
Inform your doctor of all other medications, including:
- Colchicine;
- Digoxin;
- Nelfinavir;
- Phenytoin;
- An antacid containing aluminum or magnesium, such as acid gone, gaviscon gelusil, maalox milk of magnesia, mylanta pepcid, complete rolaids, rulox, and other brands;
- A blood thinner: warfarin coumadin jantoven
