What is Alunbrig?

Alunbrig is a medicine for cancer that blocks the development and spreading of cancerous cells throughout the body. Alunbrig can be used to treat small cell lung cancer which can have spread to various regions within the human organism (metastatic). Alunbrig is only used when your cancer is associated with a particular Genetic indicator (an anomalous "ALK" gene). Your doctor will determine if you have this gene.

Alunbrig could cause serious side effects, such as lung issues and vision issues. excessive blood pressure as well as high blood sugar, slow heartbeats, muscle injury or pancreatitis..

Before You Take This Drug

You shouldn't take Alunbrig If you are allergic to Brigatinib.

To ensure that Alunbrig is safe for you, ask your doctor if ever experienced:

  • Lung disease or breathing issues;

  • Heartbeats that are slow;

  • High blood pressure

  • Problems with vision;

  • Insulin resistance or glucose intolerance

  • Issues with the pancreas;

  • If you're female,

To avoid pregnancy when using Alunbrig, use an efficient nonhormonal birth control like the intrauterine device (IUD). Do not become pregnant until at least 4 months following the last dose.

  • If you're male,

  • Contact your physician immediately when you notice a pregnancy when both the mother and father are taking Brigatinib.

Alunbrig could alter the fertility (ability to bear children) for men. It is, however, important to utilize birth control to avoid pregnancy as brigatinib may cause harm to a baby who is not yet born.

It is not recommended to feed your baby while taking this medication and at least a week following the last dose.

How to Take Alunbrig?

Use Alunbrig as directed by your physician. Follow all instructions on the prescription label and go through all the medication guides or instructions. The doctor might alter your dosage.

Alunbrig is typically consumed daily, either with food or not.

Suck the tablet completely and make sure you don't crush, chew or break it.

Details on Dosage

For Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer, the Standard Adult Dose

Initial Dose:90 mg taken orally daily during the initial 7 days

Maintain Dose: If the first dose is tolerated for 7 consecutive days gradually increase to 180 mg once every day.

The duration of therapy is until the disease progresses or there is unacceptable toxicity

Treatment of patients suffering from anaplastic lymphoma kinase (ALK)-positive metastatic non-small-cell lung cancer ( NSCLC) who have advanced or are not tolerant to crizotinib.

What Happens If I Miss a Dose?

Don't miss the dose you missed and take your next dose at your regular time. Don't take two doses at the same time.

What Should Be Avoided?

Grapefruit

can interact with brigatinib, leading to adverse reactions. Beware of using products made from grapefruit.

This medication can cause blurred vision and cause a decrease in your reactions. Avoid driving and other hazardous activities until you are aware of what effects this medication can have on your vision.

Side Effects of Alunbrig

See a doctor immediately If you show symptoms that you are experiencing an allergic reaction Alunbrig: hives and breathing problems or swelling of your lips, face or tongue.

Speak to your physician right away. If you experience

  • Lung issues - cough, trouble breathing chest pain, fever

  • Vision issues blurred vision double vision, greater the sensitivity to light, noticing flashes of light, or "floaters" in your vision;

  • Hypertension, severe headache, the pounding of your neck or your ears. confusion;

  • Hyper blood glucose - more thirst, more frequent urination, nausea, hunger, breath nausea and confusion, weakness;
