What is Panoxyl?
Benzoyl peroxide is a natural antibacterial. Additionally, it provides a slight drying effect, allowing the excess oil and dirt to be easily removed from the body.Panoxyl (for the face) is a treatment for acne.
There are numerous varieties and brands of benzoyl peroxide available. Some brands are not mentioned in this brochure.PanOxyl can be used for other purposes not covered in this medication guide.
Side effects of Panoxyl
Panoxyl could trigger an uncommon but serious allergic reaction or severe skin irritation. The reactions can occur within an hour after applying the medication or even within a day or more afterward.
Stop taking PanOxyl and seek medical attention if you show symptoms that indicate reactions to an allergen, such as itching, hives, itching or burning sensations, difficulty breathing, feeling lightheaded, swollen cheeks and lips, your tongue, or your throat.
Stop using benzoyl peroxide and consult your physician right away if you experience any of these adverse effects on the treated skin:
- Burning or severe itching.
- Redness, or severe stinging;
- Swelling
Common negative side effects of the drug PanOxyl can include:
- A mild burning or sting;
- Sensation of tingling or itching;
- Dryness of the skin, peeling, or flaking;
- The redness or irritation could be caused by other factors.

Warnings
Benzoyl peroxide could cause a rare but severe allergic reaction or severe inflammation of the skin. Stop using this medication and seek emergency medical assistance if you suffer from itching, hives, or burning sensations, difficulty breathing, lightheadedness, or swelling of your lips, tongue, throat, or face.
Before you take this drug
Benzoyl peroxide if you have an allergy to this chemical or suffer from:
- Extremely sensitive skin.
Talk to your doctor or pharmacist about whether PanOxyl is safe to use if you are suffering from any skin problems and/or allergies.
Consult a physician before taking this medicine if you are nursing or pregnant.Do not give this medication to a child unless you have medical guidance.
How to take Panoxyl?
Panoxyl can trigger a severe, but uncommon allergic reaction to the skin, or trigger severe irritation. Before you start using this drug, it is possible to apply an initial "test dose" to see whether you experience an allergic reaction. Apply a small amount of the medication to one or two small acne spots each day for three consecutive days. If there isn't any reaction, apply the full amount prescribed after the 4th day.
Follow the directions on the label or as recommended by your doctor.
Do not consume by mouth. Topical medicines are for use exclusively on your skin. Do not apply it to open wounds, dry, sunburned, or inflamed skin. Avoid using Panoxyl on the skin around wounds or areas of eczema. Make sure that the condition has been healed before using this drug.Wash your hands thoroughly prior to and after applying the medication.
Dry and cleanse the face that is to be addressed. Apply benzoyl peroxide to the skin in an even layer and massage gently.
Take note of and follow the Instructions for Use that are included with your medication. Consult your physician or pharmacist for clarification if you are unsure of these directions.It may be necessary to shake the medication just before every use.Don't cover your skin in the area unless your physician has instructed you to.
Benzoyl peroxide can bleach hair or other fabrics. Do not let this product be in the hair of your clothes.It could take several weeks before your symptoms begin to improve. Continue to take the medication according to the directions, and inform your physician if your symptoms don't improve.Keep at room temperature, far from heat and moisture.
What happens if I miss a dose?
Take the medicine as fast as you are able, but avoid the missed dose if you think it is getting close to the time of the next dose. Don't take two doses at the same time.

What should be avoided?
Rinse thoroughly with water if you get panoxyl in your mouth or eyes.Beware of products for your skin that may cause irritation, like harsh shampoos, soaps, permanent hair dyes, or chemicals such as waxes, hair removers, shampoos, or skin care products that contain alcohol, astringents, spices, or lime.
Do not expose yourself to sunlight or a tanning bed. Protect yourself with protective clothes and sunblock (SPF 30 or more) while you're outdoors.
Interaction with other drugs
Applying benzoyl peroxide when you're also taking Tretinoin topical medicine can cause extreme irritation to the skin. The brands that contain tretinoin are Avita, Renova, Retin-A, Tretin-X, and many more.
Any other medications you are taking won't have an impact on skin care products. However, many drugs interact with each other. Inform your health care professionals about any medications you take, including prescription and non-prescription medications, vitamins, and herbs.
