What is Naftifine?
Naftifine is an antifungal medication that stops fungus from growing on your body. Naftifine topical (for application to treat the skin) is used to treat skin conditions like athletes' feet, jock itch, and ringsworm infections. Naftifine topical is recommended for children and adults who have reached the age of 12 or older. Naftifine topical could also be used to treat conditions that are not mentioned in this medication guide.
Side effects of Naftifine
Contact a medical professional immediately. Get medical attention immediately if you notice symptoms that indicate an allergic reaction, such as hives, difficulty breathing, and swelling of your lips, face, and throat. Naftifine can cause serious adverse side effects. Consult your doctor right away if you experience:

Before you take this drug

The topical cream is not a product that has been approved to be used by anyone younger than 18.
How to take Topical Naftifine?
Follow all instructions on the prescription label and go through all medication guides or instruction sheets. Follow the medication precisely as directed. Do not consume by mouth. Topical medicines are for use exclusively on the skin. Rinse your eyes with water if the medicine is in your mouth or eyes. Cleanse your hands prior to and after taking this medication. Dry and clean the affected area prior to applying the gel or cream. Take this medication for the entire prescribed duration, even if symptoms improve quickly. Not taking your doses regularly can increase the chance of developing an infection that is intolerant to treatment. Contact your physician. If the condition you're treating with Naftifine is not improving within 4 weeks or if the condition gets worse. Do not apply dressings or bandages that do not permit air circulation in the area affected (occlusive dressings) except as directed by your physician. A simple cotton-gauze dressing could be used to shield clothing. Keep at room temperature, away from heat and moisture.
What happens if I miss a dose?
Utilize the medication as soon as you are able, but take a break from your missed dose if it's close to the time for the next dose.
What happens if I overdose?
A dose of naftifine that is too high isn't expected to be a danger. Get medical attention immediately or contact the Poison Help line at 1-800-222-1222 in the event that anyone has accidentally swallowed the drug.
What should be avoided?
Do not come across Naftifine in your nose, eyes, mouth, rectum, or vagina. If a contact occurs, flush your eyes out with water for 20 seconds to bring back vision and relieve any discomfort. Avoid other medications for the areas you treat with Naftifine unless your doctor has told you to. Avoid wearing tight-fitting synthetic clothes that don't let air circulate. Wear loose-fitting clothing that is made of cotton or other natural fibers until the healing process is complete.
Interaction with other drugs
Skin care products will not be affected by other medicines that you are taking. However, many medications can interact with each other. Inform your health care professionals about any medications you take, such as prescription and over-the-counter drugs, vitamins, and herbs.
