What is Aczone?
Aczone is an Anti-infective drug. Aczone is an application of a topical gel to combat pimples. The mechanism of action of the gel in treating acne is not yet understood. It is not suitable for oral use. It is not recommended for use by people who have a hypersensitivity to dapsone. Aczone gel can also be used to treat conditions that are not mentioned in this guide.
Warnings
Inform your doctor right away if you experience a rash after using Aczone. In rare instances, dapsone has been linked with serious and often fatal skin reactions.
Follow the directions on the label of your medication and the package. Inform your health care providers about your medical ailments, allergies, and any medications you take.
Before You Take This Drug

You shouldn't take Aczone if you are allergic to dapsone.
To be sure Aczone Gel is suitable for you, inform your physician if you suffer from:
○ Glucose 6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G6PD) deficiency;

It is unclear if Aczone can cause harm to an unborn baby. Consult your physician if you are expecting or planning to become pregnant.
Dapsone could be in breast milk and cause harm to nursing babies. Do not breastfeed when taking this medication.
Aczone gel isn't approved to be used by anyone younger than 12 years old.
How to Take Aczone?
Utilize Aczone gel only as instructed by your physician. Follow the directions on the prescription label. Don't use this medication in smaller or larger quantities or for longer periods than the recommended time. Do not consume by mouth. Aczone gel can be used exclusively on your skin. If the medicine is in your mouth, eyes, or vagina, rinse with water.
Cleanse the skin prior to applying Aczone gel. Carefully dry the skin with a dry towel. Wash your hands following the application of this medication. Make sure you only apply a small amount of gel every time you use this treatment.
Benzoyl peroxide acne medicine taken simultaneously with Aczone can result in temporary changes to the shade of your skin or hair growth on your face. Contact your physician if your symptoms don't improve in the following 12 weeks. Storage at room temperature, far from heat and moisture. Avoid freezing. Close the tube when not in use.
What Happens If I Miss a Dose?
Do the missed dose immediately after you remember. Don't miss your missed dosage if you are close to the time for the next dose. Don't take extra medication to replace the missed dose.
What Happens If I Overdose?
A dose of Aczone is not likely to cause harm. Get medical attention immediately or contact the poison help line at 1-800-222-1222. If you have accidentally swallowed Aczone
What Should Be Avoided?
Rinse your eyes with water if the medicine is absorbed into your eyes. Avoid applying other medicines to the areas treated by Aczone unless your doctor instructs you to.
Side Effects Of Aczone's
See a doctor immediately. If you are experiencing symptoms that you are experiencing an allergic reaction due to Aczone, such as hives, difficulty breathing, and swelling of your lips, face, and tongue,
Aczone can cause methemoglobinemia (met-HEEM-oh glo-bin-EE'mee'a), an extremely serious condition that causes the amount of oxygen present in the blood stream to be very low. Stop taking this medication and consult your doctor anytime if you notice a gray or blue-colored appearance to your fingernails, lips, or even the inside of your mouth.
Contact your doctor immediately. If you are suffering from:
○ Extremely sore throat
○ Strange thoughts or behaviors;
○ A red blood cell disease that causes back pain, yellow or pale skin, dark colored urine, nervousness, weakness, or fever;
○ Pancreas disorders: severe discomfort in your stomach that stretches into your back, nausea and vomiting, a high heart rate
○ Severe skin reaction, the throat is sore, fever, swelling of your tongue or face, burning in your eyes, skin irritation, and an irritated or purple eruption that can spread (especially on the face or the upper part of the body) and can cause blisters and peeling.
Common Aczone side effects can be:
○ Dry, peeling, or dry skin;
○ Oily skin
○ The area of redness was where the medicine was placed.

Interaction with Other Drugs
Aczone may cause a dangerous condition known as methemoglobinemia, particularly when you take certain medications in conjunction that include sulfa medicines such as acetaminophen (Tylenol) and nitroglycerin, as well as other heart medications containing nitrite seizures medicine, as well as many other drugs.
