How to take Synarel?

Your doctor will test the medicine to ensure that it is right for your child. Read all the instructions or guides that come with your medication and follow the directions. Sometimes, your doctor will change the dose. You must take the medication exactly as it is prescribed. This medicine should not be missed. If you skip doses or do not use Synarel properly, it may lead to a hormonal imbalance and unwanted side effects.

Please read and follow the instructions for the use of nasal spray. If you don't understand the instructions, ask your pharmacist or doctor. When using nasal spray, tilt your head back slightly. Only use the prescribed number of sprays and wait at least 30 seconds in between each spray.

Your doctor should monitor your child's progress by conducting frequent medical tests. This is especially important during the first six to eight weeks of Synarel use. Nafarelin may increase hormones at the beginning of treatment. It may make your child's precocious symptoms worse for a brief time. If pubertal symptoms persist for more than a month, call your doctor. Synarel should not cause regular periods to continue. If your period continues for more than one month after starting this medication, tell your doctor.

Use a Synarel spray bottle for no more than 30 days. After 30 days, the medicine in the bottle will not be sufficient to give another full dose. Do not run out of medication by getting your prescription renewed before 30 days. Synarel should be stored upright at room temperature, away from moisture, heat, and light. Avoid freezing. When not in use, keep the bottle tightly closed.

What happens if I miss the dose?

If you are almost due for your next dose, skip the missed dose. Never take two doses of the same medicine at once. Synarel is highly important.

What happens if I overdose?

Call 1-800-222-1222 for poison help or seek immediate medical attention.

What should be avoided?

After using the spray, avoid sneezing or blowing your nose. Nafarelin can be less effective if you sneeze or blow your nose right after using the spray. Do not use any other nasal sprays for at least 2 hours following your dose of Nafarelin Nasal. Ask your doctor if you have a stuffy or runny nose before using nasal decongestant sprays.
