What is Soothe?
This leaflet does not list all brands or forms of eye lubricant available today. Adults can use Soothe to soothe dry eye irritation and burning. This medication guide does not list all possible uses for Soothe.
Side effects of Soothe
If you experience any of the following signs and symptoms of an allergic reaction: difficulty breathing, hives, facial, lip or throat swelling and difficulty swallowing, it is imperative that medical assistance be sought immediately: difficulty in taking breath, difficulty in speaking clearly and facial, lip or throat swelling.
If you experience:
- After using the medication, you may experience severe eye irritation, burning, or stinging.
- Eye pain
- Vision changes
Soothe can cause the following side effects:
- Mild eye irritation or burning;
- Itching or redness in your eyes
- Watery eyes
- Blurred vision
- Light sensitivity

Warnings
Do not use soap for treating or preventing an eye infection.
Before you take this drug
If you have an allergy to Soothe, then it is best not to use the product. This medication will not prevent or treat an eye infection.
If you suspect that you may have an infection, ask your doctor or pharmacist whether it is safe to use Soothe. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant or nursing.
How to take Soothe?
Read all instructions or guides that come with your medication and follow all directions. Follow the directions on the label. Before using Soothe, wash your hands. If the medication looks cloudy or has changed color, do not use it and contact your pharmacist.
Stay away from touching or placing directly onto your eye the tip of an eye dropper or ointment tube, which could potentially contaminate and cause severe vision impairment if touched directly on it. If your symptoms don't improve or worsen while using Soothe, call your doctor. Store away from heat and moisture at room temperature.
What happens if I miss the dose?
When needed, soap can be used. You should skip the missed dose if you have a regular dosing regimen. Never use two doses in one go.
What happens if I overdose?
Overdoses of ocular moisturizer are not dangerous. If anyone accidentally swallows the medication, call 1-800-222-1222 or the Poison Help Line for immediate medical attention.
What should be avoided?
You may experience blurred vision after taking Soothe. Do not drive or do any hazardous activities until you have determined how the medicine will affect you. You should only use eye drops prescribed by your doctor.
Interaction with other drug
Other medications you take will likely not affect the medicine used on your eyes; however, many drugs interact. Be sure to inform your physician of all of the medications you are taking at once (prescriptions, over-the-counter medicines, vitamins or herbal remedies).
