What is Siltussin-dm das-na maximum strength?

Dextromethorphan works as a cough suppressant. Guaifenesin works as an expectorant. Siltussin das-na is a combination medication used to treat coughs and chest congestion due to the common flu or allergies.

Warnings

If you've taken an mao-inhibitor in the last 14 days (such as isocarboxazid or linezolid), phenelzine rasagiline, selegiline, or tranylcypromine, do not take this medication.

Before you take this drug

Siltussin das-na maximum strength should not be used if you've taken mao inhibitors in the last 14 days. A dangerous medication interaction may occur. Mao inhibitors are isocarboxazid (linezolid), phenelzine (selegiline), rasagiline (selegiline injection), methylene blue injection, and tranylcypromine.

If you suffer from:

  • A cough that produces mucus
  • Asthma, emphysema, or chronic lung disease.

Consult your doctor before taking this medication if you're pregnant or breastfeeding. This medication may contain phenylalanine. If you have phenylketonuria, check the label of your medication.

How to take Siltussin-dm das-na maximum strength?

Follow the directions on the label or given by your healthcare provider. Cold and cough medicines are only to be used for a short time until symptoms have cleared up. Follow the directions on the label when giving cough medicine or cold medicine. Never use cough and cold medication to put a child to sleep. Measuring liquid medicine is important. Use either the provided dosing device or another dose-measuring tool (other than spoon).

It may be necessary to shake the liquid prior to measuring a dose. Please follow all of the instructions listed on your label. Do not chew, crush, or break the extended-release tablet. The granules can be sprinkled directly on your tongue. Swallow immediately. Drink plenty of fluids when taking this medication in order to loosen congestion and soothe your throat. This will also help ensure optimal performance from this treatment.

If your symptoms do not improve within seven days or if fever, rash, or headache occur, please visit a healthcare provider immediately. Tell the surgeon if you've taken the medicine in the last few days and if you are going to need any kind of surgery. Store away from heat and moisture at room temperature.

What happens if i miss the dose?

Siltussin das-na is taken as needed, and there may not be a schedule. If it is almost time to take your next dose, skip any missed doses. Never take two doses in one go.
