Isopto tears can be used by adults to relieve the burning, irritation and discomfort of dry eyes. Isopto tears can be used in other ways not mentioned in this guide.
Side effects of Isopto tears
If you experience any of the following symptoms of an allergic reaction , seek immediate medical attention: difficulty breathing, hives, swelling of your lips, face, or throat.
If you experience:
- After using medication, you may experience severe eye irritation, burning, or stinging sensations.
- Eye pain
- Vision changes
Isopto tears can cause the following side effects:
- Mild eye irritation or burning;
- Itching , or redness in your eyes.
- Watery eyes
- Blurred vision
- Light sensitivity

Warnings
Do not use isopto tears for treating or preventing an eye infection.
Before you take this drug
If you have an allergy to isopto tears, then do not use it. The medicine does not prevent or treat an eye infection.
If you suspect that you may have an infection, ask your doctor or pharmacist whether it's safe to use isopto tears.
How to take Isopto tears?
Read and follow all instructions or guides included with your medication, as well as all instructions printed on its label. Follow the directions on the label. Before using isopto tears, wash your hands.
Isopto tears should not be used. Call your pharmacist immediately if you notice that the medicine has become cloudy or changed in color.
Avoid touching the tip directly to your eye. The tip of the eye dropper or ointment tube can cause serious vision problems if it is contaminated. If your symptoms don't improve or worsen while using isopto tears, call your doctor. Store away from heat and moisture at room temperature.
What happens if i miss the dose?
Isopto tears are used as needed. You can skip any missed dose if you have a regular dosing schedule. Never use two doses in one go.
What happens if i overdose?
Overdoses of ocular moisturizer are not dangerous. If anyone accidentally swallows the medication, call 1-800-222-1222 or the poison help line for immediate medical attention.
What should be avoided?
Isopto tears can cause blurred vision. Do not drive or do any hazardous activities until you have determined how the medicine will affect you.
You should only use eye drops prescribed by your doctor.
Interaction with other drug
Other drugs that you take are unlikely to affect the medicine used on your eyes. Many drugs interact. Tell your doctor all the medications you are taking, including over-the-counter drugs and herbal supplements.
