What is Inova 4-1/topical?

Benzoyl peroxide is antibacterial. It has a mild drying action that helps to wash away excess dirt and oil.Salicylic acid is an agent that peels the outer layer of skin.Inova (for the skin) is a combination medication used to treat severe acne.

This medication should not be used to treat mild acne. It contains a stronger concentration of benzoyl peroxide than many acne products available over the counter. Improper use of this product can cause severe skin irritation.Inova 4/1 can be used in other ways not mentioned in this guide.

Side effects of Inova 4/1

Inova 4/1 can cause an allergic reaction that is rare but severe. It may also cause skin irritation. These reactions can occur within minutes of applying the medication or even a day later.

If you experience any of the following symptoms of an allergic reaction, stop using this medication and seek emergency medical attention: hives; itching; difficulty breathing; feeling lightheaded; swelling in your face, lips, or throat.

If you experience any of the following symptoms, stop using Inova 4/1 immediately and contact your doctor.

  • Skin irritation after the use of medication
  • Peeling or scaly skin
  • Redness or swelling on the treated skin
  • Nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea.

Inova 4/1 can cause the following side effects:

  • Dry skin or mild irritation
  • Dizziness;
  • Ringing in the ears

Before you take this drug

This medicine should not be used if you have an allergy to aspirin, salicylic acid, or benzoyl acid.

Tell your doctor about any allergies you may have or any other medical conditions you might be suffering from.

FDA pregnancy class C There is no information on whether Inova will harm an unborn child. If you plan to get pregnant or are already pregnant, tell your doctor.

There is no way to know if benzoyl-peroxide or salicylic acid topical can pass into breast milk or if they could harm a baby who is nursing. You should tell your doctor if a child is breastfed.Inova 4/1 is not recommended for children younger than 12 years of age.

How to take Inova 4/1?

Do not alter the instructions on your prescription. Use this medication only as directed. Do not exceed the recommended dosage or use it for longer.

Inova can cause an allergic reaction, which is rare but severe. You may want to test the medicine first to see if it causes a reaction. Every day, apply a small amount of medicine to one or two small acne spots. On the fourth day, if there is no reaction to the medicine, you can use the full amount prescribed.

Only use mild skin cleansers or those prescribed by your doctor.

The medicated pad should be applied to dry, clean skin at least twice a day. If your doctor has prescribed this regiment, you can apply it as often as needed. Do not wash off the medication unless you experience severe skin irritation immediately after application.

What happens if I miss the dose?

As soon as you recall, apply the missed dose. If your next dose is approaching, skip the missed dose. You should not take extra medicine to compensate for a missed dose.

What should be avoided?

Inova 4/1 topical is not to be taken by mouth. Inova 4/1 Topical should only be used on the skin. Do not get this medication into your mouth or nose. Rinse with water if this happens. This medicine should not be used on skin that is sunburned or windburned. It also shouldn't be applied to dry, chapped skin, irritated skin, or broken tissue.

If you accidentally get this medication in your eyes, wash them with water.Do not use other medications to treat the same areas that you have treated with Inova 4/1, unless you are told by your doctor.

Avoid skin products that can cause irritation. These include harsh soaps, skin cleansers or shampoos, permanent hair dyes or chemicals, hair waxes or removers, and skin products containing alcohol, spices, astringents, or lime.

Interaction with other drug

Inova 4/1 is unlikely to be affected by other drugs that you may take orally or even inject. Many drugs interact with each other. Inform your healthcare providers of all the medicines you take, including prescriptions, over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, and herbal products.
