What is Jatenzo?
Jatenzo is a liquid-filled capsule that treats the symptoms of hypogonadism in men. Jatenzo can only be used by men who have low testosterone caused by medical conditions such as disorders of the pituitary, a small gland located in the brain, or the hypothalamus, a part of the brain that causes hypogonadism. Before you start taking this medication, your doctor will order lab tests to determine if your testosterone levels are low.
Jatenzo is not recommended to treat symptoms of low testosterone in men with low testosterone caused by aging. Jatenzo should not be used by women.
Testosterone, a hormone that is produced by the human body, contributes to the development and function of male sexual organs as well as the typical characteristics of men. Jatenzo replaces the testosterone normally produced by your body.
The safety and effectiveness of testosterone in children under 18 years old are unknown. Incorrect use of testosterone can affect the growth of bones in children. Jatenzo contains testosterone, which can be used by people who abuse prescription drugs. To protect this medicine, keep it in a secure place. Do not give Jatenzo to others, even if you share the same symptoms. This medicine can harm others, and it is illegal to sell or give away.
Warnings
Jatenzo should not be used if you are suffering from prostate or male breast cancer. Testosterone increases blood pressure and can increase the risk of stroke or death. Jatenzo may cause you to need to take blood pressure medication or stop using it. Jatenzo is not recommended for improving athletic performance.
