What is Baciguent?
Bacitracin , also known as Antibacterial , is used to fight bacteria.Use Baciguent to treat minor cuts, scrapes, and burns.This medication guide does not list all possible uses of Bacitracin.

Before you take this drug
If you have an allergy to bacitracin or mineral oils (or petroleum jelly), then you should avoid using Baciguent.Baciguent should not be used to treat animal bites or puncture wounds. It is also not recommended for severe burns. If you're not sure, ask your doctor or pharmacist whether it is safe to use the medicine.Bacitracin should not harm an unborn child.It is unknown if bacitracin can pass into breast milk or if it would harm a baby who was nursing.If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, ask your doctor or pharmacist whether it is safe to take this medication.
How to take Baciguent?
Do not exceed the recommended dosage or duration. Use the recommended dose and do not exceed it.Before applying Baciguent, clean the area.Apply bacitracin 1–3 times daily to the affected area. Only apply enough to cover the affected area.Use this medication only on small areas of the skin.Cover the treated skin with a bandage.Use bacitracin for no more than seven consecutive days. If your symptoms don't improve after seven days or you develop a skin rash, call your doctor.Store away from moisture or heat at room temperature. Store at room temperature, away from moisture and heat sources.
What happens if I miss the dose?
You are unlikely to miss a dose of Baciguent since it is available when needed.

Call 1-800-222-1222 for poison help or seek immediate medical attention.
What should be avoided?
Baciguent should only be applied to the skin. This medication should not be gotten in your eyes or nose. It is also best to avoid getting it in the rectum and vagina. If you do get it in your eyes, nose, mouth, or rectum or vagina, wash with water.
Interaction with other drug
Bacitracin applied topically is unlikely to be affected by other drugs that you may take orally or even inject. Many drugs interact with each other. Inform your healthcare providers of all medications you take, including vitamins and herbal supplements.
