What is Zaditor?

Zaditor (for the eyes) is used by adults and children who are 3 years old to briefly relieve the itching in the eye due to allergies to pollen, dust, grass, animals, or other allergens.Zaditor could also be used for other purposes not covered in this guideline.

Side effects of Zaditor

See a doctor immediately. If you notice symptoms that are warning signs of an allergic reaction, such as difficulty breathing, hives, and swelling of your lips, face, or tongue,

Zaditor can cause severe adverse reactions. Take a break from Zaditor and consult your physician immediately if you suffer from:

  • Eye problems or vision changes;
  • Eye itching that becomes worse or lasts for more than 72 hours.
  • Extreme burning, stinging, or eye irritation after applying drops for the eyes;
  • Eye symptoms include swelling, redness, extreme pain, or swelling or drainage.

The less serious side effects could be more likely, or you could not experience any whatsoever.

Follow all instructions on the label as well as the packaging. Make sure you use the product exactly as indicated.

Before you take this drug

You shouldn't use Zaditor if you have an allergy to the substance or suffer from:

  • Eye irritation that is caused by contact lenses.

Don't let a toddler access Zaditor without assistance from an adult.

How to take Zaditor?

Follow the instructions on the label exactly or as directed by your doctor.Avoid using it while wearing soft contact lenses. Zaditor could contain a preservative that could permanently stain lenses. You should wait for a minimum of 10 minutes prior to placing your contacts.Cleanse your hands prior to applying eye drops.

To apply the drops to your eyes Apply the drops by pulling the lower part of your eyelid down to create a pocket, and then squeeze a drop of the drops into the pocket. Then, close your eyes for one to two minutes.Only use the recommended amount of drops.At least 5 minutes before applying or using any eye drops.

Don't put your finger on the tip of the dropper or put the tip directly on your eyes. Drops that are contaminated can cause eye infections and serious vision issues.Contact your pharmacist if the medicine appears cloudy, has changed colour, or has particles.

Each single-use vial is intended for only one use (in each eye). Place the empty vials back in the original pouch and keep them safe from the sun's rays. The vial should be discarded after one use, even if there's some medicine remaining in it.Keep at room temperature, in a straight position, and securely sealed. Avoid freezing.

What happens If I miss a dose?

Take the medication as quickly as you can; however, take a break from your missed dose if you are close to the time for the next dose. Do not take two doses at once.

What happens if I overdose?

For medical emergencies, seek emergency treatment or contact the Poison Help line at 1-800-222-1222 in the event that anyone has accidentally swallowed the medication.

What should be avoided?

Do not take any other eye medication unless your doctor advises you to.

Interaction with other drugs

Eye medicine is unlikely to be affected by any other medications you take. However, many medications can interact with each other. Inform your doctor about all of your current medications, such as prescription and over-the-counter medications, vitamins, and herbal supplements.
