What is Xpect-AT?
Carbetapentane is an effective cough suppressant. It alters the brain's signals, which activate the cough reflex.
Guaifenesin is an expectorant. It aids in removing mucus and congestion in your throat and chest, which makes it easier to breathe by mouth.
"Xpect"-AT can be described as a mix of drug that treats cough, stuffy nose, and chest congestion caused by commonly-assisted cold or flu.
Xpect-AT cannot help with a cough resulted from cigarettes, asthma or the condition known as emphysema.Xpect-AT can also be used for other purposes that are not covered in this guideline.
Side effects of Xpect-AT

This medication could cause severe adverse effects. Stop taking this medication and contact your doctor immediately if you experience:
- Hallucinations, confusion, anxiety, nervousness, or restlessness;
- Tremors
- Extreme vulnerability.
Common negative effects of Xpect-AT can include:
- Drowsiness, dizziness;
- Headache;
- Sleep problems (insomnia);

Warnings
Do not take Xpect-AT. If you've used an MAO inhibitor within the past 14 days, including isocarboxazid, linezolid blue injections, phenelzine, rasagiline, and selegiline. tranylcypromine.
Before you take this drug
Avoid using Xpect-AT if you've previously used an MAO inhibitor within the last 14 days. A potentially dangerous interaction between drugs could occur. MAO inhibitors include isocarboxazid, linezolid, phenelzine, selegiline, rasagiline, and tranylcypromine.
This medication is for you if you have an allergy to guaifenesin or carbetapentane.
To ensure that Xpect is suitable for you, inform your physician if you suffer from:

- Diabetes;
- Increased prostate or urination issues
- Thyroid that is overactive.
It is not clear if the Xpect-AT medication can cause harm to a baby who is not yet born. Consult your physician if you are expecting.
Carbetapentane and guaifenesin could be found in breast milk and cause harm to the nursing infant. Consult your physician if you are nursing your baby.
Artificially sweetened, sweetened, or improved liquid cough and cold medicine can contain phenylalanine. If you suffer from phenylketonuria (PKU), look over the label on your medication to determine whether the product contains the chemical phenylalanine.
How to take Xpect-AT?
Follow the directions on the label or as directed by your physician. Don't use in larger quantities or for longer periods than recommended. Cold or cough medicine is typically taken for a short period of time until the symptoms subside.
Do not give this medicine to a child who is less than four years old. Always consult a physician prior to giving a cold or cough medicine to children. Death can occur because of the misuse of cold and cough medicines in very young children.
Use XpectAT in conjunction with a full glass of drinking water. Drink additional fluids to alleviate congestion and lubricate your throat when you are taking this medicine.Xpect-AT can be taken along with food if you feel it upsets your stomach.Don't crush, chew, or break an extended-release tablet. Suck it up whole.
Consult your physician if symptoms don't improve after seven weeks of therapy or if you are suffering from a fever, headache, cough, or the appearance of a skin problem.This medicine may cause unexpected results when tested with certain tests. Inform any physician who treats you if you've taken an anti-cough medicine in the past couple of days.
If you require surgery, inform the surgeon prior to surgery if you've taken an anti-cough medicine in the last few days.Storage at room temperature, far from heat, moisture, and light. Make sure that you do not allow the medicine to cool down.
What happens if I miss a dose?
Because cold or cough medication is administered when it is required, you might not be following a dose schedule. If you're following a regimen, take the dose you missed as soon as you can remember. Avoid any missed doses if it's nearing the time for the next scheduled dose. Do not take extra medicine to make up for the missed dose.

What should be avoided?
The medication can cause blurred vision and a decrease in your ability to think or react. Be aware of this if you are driving or engaging in any activity that requires that you be aware and capable of seeing clearly.
Drinking alcohol can make you more drowsy due to expectations.
Talk to your doctor or pharmacist prior to using any other cough, cold, or allergy medication. Cough suppressants, or expectorants, are found in a variety of combinations of medications. When you combine certain medications, it can result in you taking too much of a particular medication. Examine the label to find out whether a medication contains an expectorant or a cough suppressant.
Interaction with other drugs
Combining Xpect-AT with other medications that make you sleepy or cause breathing problems can make these effects worse. Talk to your doctor prior to using Xpect-AT in conjunction with a sleep pill, narcotic pain medication, muscle relaxers, or medicines to treat depression, anxiety, depression, or seizures.
