What is Systane Ultra Preservative Free?

There are a variety of types and brands of lubricant for eyes available, but there are a few that are not listed in this document.  Systane Ultra Preservative Free is utilized for adults to alleviate irritation, burning and discomfort that is caused by dry eyes.  Systane Ultra Preservative Free could also be used for other purposes not covered in this medication guide.

Systane Ultra Preservative Side Effects

See a doctor immediately. If you are experiencing symptoms that indicate an allergic reaction, like hives, trouble breathing, or swelling of your lips, face, and tongue,  Get rid of Systane Ultra Preservative-Free and contact your doctor if you are suffering from extreme burning, stinging, or eye irritations after taking the medication.

  • Eye discomfort eye pain and vision

Common negative side effects associated with Systane Ultra Preservative Free can be: mild eye burning or irritation; itching or eye redness; eye watering; blurred vision; or sensitivity to light.  This is not a comprehensive list of possible side effects, and other side effects could be present. You shouldn't use Systane Ultra Preservative Free to treat or prevent eye infections.

Before you take this drug

It is not recommended to use Systane Ultra Preservative-Free if you are intolerant to it. The medicine is not able to treat or prevent eye infections. Talk to a pharmacist or doctor about whether it is suitable for you to take Systane Ultra Preservative Free if you are suffering from an eye infection. Consult your physician if you are breastfeeding or pregnant.

How to take Systane Ultra Preservative Free?

Follow the directions on your prescription label and review all medication guides and instruction sheets. Make sure you use the medicine as instructed. Wash your hands before using Systane Ultra Preservative-Free. Avoid using Systane Ultra Preservative-Free and contact your pharmacist if the medicine appears cloudy or changes color.  Do not touch the edge of your eyedropper to the ointment tube or put it directly on the eye. A contamination on the tip could cause an eye infection, which could cause serious vision issues. Contact your doctor if symptoms don't improve or if they become worse when applying Systane Ultra's Preservative Free. Keep it at room temperature, free of heat and moisture.

What happens if I miss a dose?

Systane Ultra Preservative-Free can be utilized when it is needed. If you're following a regular dosing regimen, you should skip missed doses. Don't take two doses at once.

What happens when I Overdose?

Ocular lubricant overdose is not likely to be a danger. Get medical attention immediately or contact the Poison Help line at 1-800-222-1222 in the event that someone has accidentally swallowed the medicine.

What should be avoided?

Systane Ultra Preservative-Free could create blurred eyes. Avoid driving or engaging in hazardous activities until you are aware of the effects of this medication on your vision.  Do not use any other eye medication unless your doctor advises you to.

Interaction with other drugs

Eye medicine is unlikely to be affected by other medications you take. However, there are many drugs that interact with each other. Discuss with your doctor the medicines you are currently taking, including prescription and over-the-counter medications, vitamins, and herbs.
