What is DayQuil Cough?

DayQuil Cough suppresses coughs caused by the common cold and flu. DayQuil Cough does not treat coughs caused by smoking or asthma. Dextromethorphan is available in many different brands. This leaflet does not list all available brands. DayQuil Cough can be used in other ways not mentioned in the medication guide.

Side effects of DayQuil Cough

If you experience any of the following symptoms of an allergy: difficulty breathing, hives, swelling in your lips, face, throat, or tongue

DayQuil cough can cause severe side effects. Call your doctor immediately if:

  • Severe nervousness and confusion
  • Severe dizziness or drowsiness;
  • Blurred vision
  • Urination that is painful or difficult

Side effects that may occur with dayquil Cough include:

  • Diarrhea; loss of appetite
  • Dizziness;
  • Tingling;
  • Feeling restless

Warnings

DayQuil Cough should not be used if MAO inhibitors have been taken in the last 14 days. These include isocarboxazid (linezolid), methylene blue, phenelzine, or rasagiline.

Before you take this drug

DayQuil Cough should not be used if an MAO inhibitor has been taken in the last 14 days. You could experience a dangerous medication interaction. The MAO inhibitors are isocarboxazid (linezolid), phenelzine (rasagiline), selegiline (selegiline injection), methylene blue injection, and others. If you have an allergy to DayQuil Cough, then it is best not to use this product. If you are suffering from any health conditions, ask your doctor or pharmacist whether this medication is suitable for use. DayQuil Cough is not recommended for children younger than 12. Consult your doctor before taking this medication if you're pregnant or breastfeeding. The medicine you are taking may contain phenylalanine. If you have phenylketonuria, check the label of your medication.

How to take DayQuil Cough?

Please follow all directions provided on your package or prescribed by your physician.Use cold or cough medicines only as needed until symptoms have cleared up. Measuring liquid medication is important. Dosing devices are available, but not spoons. If your symptoms do not improve within 7 days or if they include fever, rash or headache symptoms, seek medical assistance immediately. Tell your doctor or surgeon if you've taken DayQuil Cough within the last few days if you are going to need surgery or any medical testing. Keep away from heat, moisture, and light. Store at room temperature, away from moisture, heat, and light.

What happens if I miss the dose?

Your cough and cold medication might not follow a set schedule; when its use becomes necessary, however, skip any missed dose. Never attempt to take two at once!

What should be avoided?

DayQuil Cough can affect your reactions. Avoid dangerous activities until you are sure how they will impact you. You may be unable to react properly. Certain side effects can be exacerbated by alcohol consumption. Before using any over-the-counter medicines that contain similar ingredients to DayQuil Cough, consult your doctor or pharmacist.

Interaction with other drug

This medicine should not be taken with any other medications that can cause you to fall asleep or have difficulty breathing. (For example, opioids, muscle relaxers, and medicines for anxiety and seizures.) Before using other medications, such as vitamins and herbs, consult your doctor or pharmacist.
