Warnings

Previously taking an mao inhibitor (such as isocarboxazid or linezolid) or one of phenelzine's treatments such as rasagiline, selegiline or tranylcypromine within 14 days may render this medication unsafe to take.

Before you take this drug

Children's delsym cough+chest congest dm should not be used if you took an mao inhibitor within the last 14 days. A dangerous medication interaction may occur. Mao inhibitors are isocarboxazid (linezolid), phenelzine (phenelzine injection), rasagiline (selegiline), and tranylcypromine.

If you suffer from:

  • A cough that produces mucus
  • Chronic lung disease, or asthma.

Consult your doctor before taking this medication if you're pregnant or breastfeeding.This medication may contain phenylalanine. If you have phenylketonuria, check the label of your medication.

How to take children's delsym cough+chest congest dm?

Follow the directions on the label or those prescribed by your physician.cold and cough medicines should only be taken temporarily until all symptoms have subsided.Follow the directions on the label when administering cough and cold medication to a child, never using cough and cold medicines to put him or her to sleep.Measuring liquid medicine is important. Use the provided dosing device or a dose-measuring tool (not a spoon) to measure liquid medicine.It may be necessary to shake the liquid prior to measuring a dose. Please follow all the instructions on the label.

Do not attempt to chew, crush or break an extended-release tablet.The granules can be sprinkled directly on your tongue. Swallow immediately.While taking this medication, drink extra fluids in order to loosen congestion and lubricate the throat.If your symptoms don't improve within 7 days or you experience a headache, fever, rash, or other symptoms, call your doctor.Tell the surgeon if you've taken this medication within the last few days.Store away from heat and moisture at room temperature.

What happens if i miss the dose?

You may not have a schedule for children's delsym cough+chest congest dm, as it is only used when necessary. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip any missed dose. Never take two doses in one go.
