What is Lagevrio?

Lagevrio is a research drug currently being studied to treat moderate to mild COVID-19, a mild-to-moderate disease. The drug is currently being investigated, and all of its potential risks haven't yet been identified. The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has granted approval for the use of molnupiravir to treat moderate-to-moderate COVID-19 in people who are 18 or older:

  • Those who are at risk of progression to severe COVID-19, which could lead to the possibility of death or hospitalization.
  • For whom COVID-19 treatment options do not seem accessible or appropriate.

Lagevrio has not been authorized for the following uses:

  • To begin treatment for those who are in need of hospitalization due to COVID-19.
  • To prevent the spread of COVID-19 prior to or following exposure to COVID-19.
  • More than five consecutive more than five consecutive

The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved Molnupiravir as an emergency drug for the treatment of moderate-to-moderate COVID-19 in patients who are 18 and over.

Before you take this drug

Consult your physician if you suffer from a chronic or serious illness. Lagevrio can harm the unborn baby in the event that the mother or father uses it.

  • If you're female, do not use Lagevrio in the event that there is a possibility of pregnancy. Make sure you are using effective contraception to stop pregnancy while using this medication in the first four days after the last dose.
  • If you're male, use an effective birth control method if your sex lover is pregnant or likely to become pregnant. Use birth control for at least three months following the last dose.
  • Inform your doctor immediately. If you become pregnant in the presence of either the mother or father, you are taking Lagevrio.

It is possible that you will need to take an unfavorable pregnancy test prior to commencing this treatment. If you're pregnant, then your name might be added to the pregnancy registry to monitor how molnupiravir affects you as an infant. Don't breastfeed during the course of this medication or for at least four days following the last dose. If you have a breast pump during this period, then throw away any milk you can collect. Don't give it to your infant. Not recommended for use by anyone less than 18 years of age.

How to take Lagevrio?

Follow all instructions on your prescription label and review all medication guides and instruction sheets. Follow the medication precisely as directed. Consume Lagevrio (four capsules) every 12 hours for five consecutive days. Use this medicine as quickly as possible following the diagnosis of COVID-19. It is recommended to take it within 5 days from the time symptoms first begin to manifest. You can consume Lagevrio either with or without food. Suck the capsule whole, and don't crush or chew on it, break it, or even open it.

The treatment you receive with Lagevrio does not reduce the risk of spreading the infection to others. Keep using infection control techniques to control it, such as isolation, social distancing, hand washing, wearing a protective face mask, cleaning surfaces frequently, and not sharing personal items with other people. Lagevrio is being investigated, and all the potential risks are not yet understood.

What happens if I miss a dose?

Utilize the medicine as quickly as you are able, but avoid any missed dose if you have been more than 10 hours behind on the dose. Do not take two doses at once.
