What is Post-traumatic stress disorder(PTSD)?

PTSD stands for post-traumatic stress disorder, in which a person faces many hurtful thoughts from his past, and these thoughts may have come from painful events or trauma that he had experienced in the past, like Accidents, sexual abuse, violence, and many more events that the patient considered as trauma. There’s a famous saying about this painful event: “A trauma may take a person’s life to heal,” so we genuinely know what trauma can do to a person. When thoughts appear from that stressful situation; the person will feel a series of painful events through his eyes, and also, he is stressed out a lot more; his breathing going slow and tightness in his chest whenever he has thoughts from that trauma. Many patients who are suffering from PTSD will go through this situation through sexual violence and abuse in their childhood because these thoughts from these kinds of incidents will suddenly lead a person into a feeling of that the environment where he had been abused and burdened by a large amount of stress will get on the patient. Bullied and abused by personality:

There are many children in schools who are bullied due to their body type, and also if they are disabled; if in your childhood you had faced such kind of racist people or heard bad dialogues from those persons, it will cause stress and panic, which leads you to PTSD.

Is PTSD a disability?

Yes, because mental health conditions like PTSD fall in the category of disability because you cannot do your daily work and can’t earn for yourself. That’s why it is considered a disability. If you are facing this issue, you can consult with your country’s funds centers for disabled people, which gives you a way to make your daily living.

Can PTSD be cured?

Like other mental health conditions, PTSD cannot be curable, but various medications, treatments, and therapies help you cope with your symptoms. You can also live a normal life like another person by minimizing the effects of PTSD, yet it can’t be cured entirely. Still, some therapies like CBT will help you to recover from this painful mental disorder of PTSD to that point you can tell people that you are fully recovered from PTSD. Many medicines like SSRIs and benzodiazepines are given for short-term relief from those traumatic thoughts. Many patients claim that after taking SSRIs, they feel improvement in their daily tasks and also get relief from negative thoughts.
